=FI=Rambo Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Congrats, you are getting closer Requiem!
71st_AH_Hooves Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 You'r supposed to do some barrel rolls during that song! Jason I edited them out to not go to faa prison ;p Requiem did 3 excellent circuits, and it was great to watch the videos, and.... , to find out something very special about il2-BoS that is really reflected on those videos - the weather ( wind variability and turbulence ) affecting an aircraft, something we feel very well ( well, I felt very well because I gave my BoS license to a lucky fellow :-) ) in our sim! So, congratulations also to 1C / 777 for their excellent work in bringing to the sim that interaction with mother Nature that we really lack in other sims... Yeah Req handled it great, x winds are a pain.
IIN8II Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Pretty awesome Req. I hope to find the means to do the same one day. Cheers!
LLv32_kankkis Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Thanks for sharing and congrats for first solo.
312_Tygr Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) Congrats - nice landings, steady hand! What was the plane? I remember my first solo, I only did one circuit, landed, received my congratulations, and then went back for five more... though we didn't do full stop landings, touch'n'go to save time... Sadly I don't have a video - it was way before GoPro. Even the plane I flew doesn't exist anymore - some bonehead crashed it a couple of years later. Edited February 13, 2015 by 312_Tygr
VBF-12_Gosling-71 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Great Job Requiem Following the blog Missed this live but brilliant. I remember mine well at Carlisle, UK, 1987 in a Scottish Aviation Bulldog. Maybe more of us coulde post the date location and aircraft for theirs... We are all so pleased for you Requiem. You have the whole community behind you....
VBF-12_Gosling-71 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Good luck with PPL Check ride today. Its wall to wall blue in UK. Hope its the same for you in Texas....
-TBC-AeroAce Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) Lol on my first solo from the UKs shortest licenced grass runway (netherthopre) they forgot to tell me to do a full stop each tim, so I did three touch and goes before the radio started woring again and I heard a very scared but impressed instructer screaming at me that I need to pull in. I think I broke some aviation laws that day I'm kinda jealous of the field u learnt at, at mine because it's grass it's quire hard to find, not like that huge complex u have there lol Edited March 6, 2015 by AeroAce
=FI=Blue2 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I work in McKinney, about 10 minutes from the field where he solo'd (and where I used to rent planes). Just took a stroll out to the car after lunch. It's CAVU here today, with a very light breeze from the west or southwest, so he shouldn't have much to deal with today in the way of crosswinds or turbies. Best of luck to you, Requim! Look forward to having a newly minted "single engine land" guy in our midst today!
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Fantastic flight .... congratulations buddy Chief
6./ZG26_Emil Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Congrats! I did my first solo in Merced California
