Zmaj76 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) cool, I was looking for one but now Gladiator is coming....Do you think the butons on top of the handle are hard to reach? It looks so according to pics I saw since your hand is resting below the top of the handle...And it seams its build for guys with longer fingers but the handle itself feels too thin.... Sokol1 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 the stick can feel uncomfortable, the thumb mount is to small for me, but i feel i will get the feel of it in the end Some guys use Tenis Racket Overgrip to improve joystick grip. 1

MolotoK Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Is there a way to lock the twist axis like you can on a X52?
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I dont think so. Twist is one of a few things I dislike in the stick, the spring in it is way too delicate and I often find that not even trying it gets moved left/right. The only thing I figured would help was simply getting rudder pedals so you wont have to bother with twist anymore. Cobra M5 is not bad stick, as said above it is in fact quite good. Has just a couple of flaws like the twist imo.

Roo5ter Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Any Euros know of any reputable sites that have this stick and ship to US? I am having a hard time finding a vendor I am familiar with.
Brano Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I missed oportunity to buy it here in Slovakia from my PC HW dealer. Now its sold out and new batch will arrive maybe in May,if ever. Reason....(EU vs Russia relations...)
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Hmm, Brano ... there are quite a few of shops in Poland which sell it. It was pretty popular, especially for the quality offered for such price. Price is about 200 PLN, so less than 50 Euro. You should search if any polish shop can send it to Slovakia, after all we are neighbors
Brano Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Yes,maybe I will do it like that if situation will not improve.I have some collegues and family relatives visiting Poland often.I got also some interesting russian books there.Polish translation is no barrier

Brano Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 If you will need any help I will be glad to answer or translate if necessary. Can you PM me some Polish internet sites where cobra is available for sale? Dzienkuje
Brano Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Oh,lucky me! Yesterday evening I was drinking beer in my favourite pub when suddenly sms rang on my phone.I was smart enough to check at my local HW supplier website one field next to defender picture. To inform me that it is available.I immediately made an order as there were only 2 pieces delivered. After 5 min both were sold.Today I will pick it up.Yay
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Hey Brano, tell me your opinions and possible configuration of axis. I'm not good at joystick setups and quite often just plug and play. The worst definitely is twist, spring there is way too delicate as I pointed before and often I end with deflected rudder despite I only delicately moved my hand. Tried to figure how to adjust it but I dont see any other option than kill it permanently with superglue, but that will be possible when I will get rudder pedals.
Brano Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 As you say, twist is rather sensitive, but for me it is not a problem as I have separate pedals to control the yaw axis.So the twist axis is off.I really recomend to get rudder pedals as soon as you can afford them.It is completly different flying experience. For the general setup,I did not have much time to test the stick - Easter Holidays I did just quick plug and play setup with figuring out to which knob to assign which function.I will play with it further this week and can share my setup later. - there are 2 8-way hats that can be utilised for many functions. - I like the wheel break lever at the base of the stick.Very well placed and kind of "historicly" convincing. - on the top of the stick there is a foldable lever which serves as security for guns and needs to be put down to actually fire the weapons. It is also very convincing and I like it a lot! - there is a rotating "wheel" at left side of the base.It can be also used as either throttle or other function you need.I just left it without any,as I have Saitek Throttle Quadrant for MP,propellor and mixture setup. - the massive base of the stick is heavy enough to hold the joystick at its place without having to fix it to the table. - there is also 3-position knob in top section, originaly used for Su-27 change of engagement (BVR and such) It can also be utilised for whatever other function you need And the looks! When I put my old Saitek Evo next to Cobra,I just smiled (in an evil way ) In general,I like what I got for the price of 49€.Best buy ever
Sokol1 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 - there is also 3-position knob in top section, originaly used for Su-27 change of engagement (BVR and such) It can also be utilised for whatever other function you need This 3-position knob is a mode selector, the other 7 buttons - minus the main HAT and triggers - has 3 modes. These other 7 (physical) buttons allow more 14 virtual buttons. The lever over trigger is in fact a second trigger (similar to dual barreled shot guns), that can be used to fire weapon 1, but if pressed more act over trigger 2 and fire weapons 2. This give more flexibility than two stage trigger (X-52, Warthog), because allow fire weapon 2 without fire 1 first (like in the mentioned sticks), just press only the second trigger.
Brano Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Thanks Sokol.I will need some time to get more familiar with it.So far a happy customer
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hey Brano, you found some time to try it and check various settings ?
Brano Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Sorry, not yet.Real life issues and my fracking job.Havent been flying for more than a week
