cyberwings Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I remembered seeing a couple of years ago in the old il-2 Cliff of Dover forum images of these two planes (the Mig-3 and the I-16) being developed for the Battle of Moscow project, finally canceled . Are those models going to be used in future projects, or this new merge between the Rise of Fight and the Il-2 means that all that hard work is lost. I really would love to the able to fly the Mig-3 or the I-16 with this new game engine… S!
Mac_Messer Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I don`t think so. See the 109F and LaGG. Both are made from BoM. I`d really love to get the Mig3 too.
Cybermat47 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I'd love to see the I-16 in BoS. When I flew it in Birds of Prey and Birds of Steel, I thought to myself 'this is a maneuverable little plane.' When I flew it in the more realism oriented 1946, I thought to myself 'this is a maneuverable little plane.' But were the Russians actually flying the rata in 1942?
FuriousMeow Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) It was flown up through '43, but in further rear areas and in training environments. I believe, but couldn't find much on it, that there were I-16s near Stalingrad but I'm not sure if they were directly involved in it. That was the plane I was most hoping for, but oh well - maybe eventually. Edited September 26, 2013 by FuriousMeow
Jaws2002 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) I'm sure this two will find their way into the game at some point. Just because they won't be included in the initial release, doesn't mean they can't be aded later. I'd buy them both. Love that sexy mig. Edited September 26, 2013 by Jaws2002

Are you entirely sure thats fact?, I asked Jason in one of the Live Stream if the models for the 110 and Ju88 could be ported over/edited into future releases and the answer was IIRC no because the modelling methods weren`t in-line with how the BoS guys do things. I can`t remember much more than that tbh, perhaps someone with a better memory could fill the gaps in or correct me. Edited September 26, 2013 by BFsSmurfy
ImPeRaToR Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Yes this is correct, porting over models made for the CLOD engine is so much work that building them from scratch won't take much longer. Either 109F or LaGG or both were ported to try the conversion process but it was not worth the effort.
