SharpeXB Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Why is the Syn Server set on Custom rather than Expert? I always thought it was "full real"
Alkyan Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I think their Custom's difficulty is simply more realistic than the classic Expert. On Syndicate server, you can't see your location on the map for example. You can while using Expert mode.
SharpeXB Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 I figured that was why. I like it that way.

Actually you can see friend and foe around the spawn AFs for 3 or 4 Kilometers using the large "O" map on all Expert servers.
SharpeXB Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Actually you can see friend and foe around the spawn AFs for 3 or 4 Kilometers using the large "O" map on all Expert servers. Yes I noticed that too. Seems "real" as it simulates radio comms.
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Yes I noticed that too. Seems "real" as it simulates radio comms. I can appreciate that. And those on the same side should be able to see where folks are. Also when there is a foe within that radius. Just not convinced that being able to see the opposing sides A/C forming up when no one on your side is within that Base's "radar" always makes for equitable scenarios. Although in the SYN Server I have never personally seen this taken to the extent of vulching as opposed to what has occurred on some other servers. That said as long as one knows to CYA it is what it is. Edited February 4, 2015 by [DBS]Tx_Tip
Y-29.Silky Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Yes I noticed that too. Seems "real" as it simulates radio comms. It does not at all simulate radio comms. Back in the Eagles Nest server when enemies were over an airfield, a message like, "Enemy spotted over Beketovka!" would pop up, that's simulation. Right now it's 21st century radar technology and it's really destroying my experience with this game especially since it promotes people to ignore the objective. Even in the updated Syn server now, they made a description with A-F objectives and yet the battle still only happens over the airfields. Edited February 4, 2015 by Silky
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 ........... Back in the Eagles Nest server when enemies were over an airfield, a message like, "Enemy spotted over Beketovka!" would pop up, that's simulation.......... Definitely would be on board with this. As there are messages when ground objectives are being met in most of the servers. Adding such messages whilst removing the Icons around the Bases would make a lot of sense.
