Why is the sky so dark

I still don't see the 109 in the first two shots that Kwiatek posted.   That is really frightening.

I see them. I also think that being winter russia makes a whole lot difference. Heck, we have a 15+ page topic just discussing the pressure/density altitute which is I must say, little off from standard. Maybe the colour of the sky go by the same rules ? I also dont think the sky is too dark.

Waiting for the next topic "The sun is too bright, please tone it down."

{EDIT} Incidentally, it's a lot harder to see here at work - so I suspect this monitor is calibrated poorly, unlike the one I use at home.

Interesting... Thank you.

Spotting is harder in BOS than RoF because 1942 planes has canopies. You have a layer of glass between you and the contact that makes spotting harder. Also the Yak has a slight tint on the glass as you can see in the screenshot above.

You people are forgetting a really important piece of equipment: the monitor. Different monitors have different colors, brightness, contrast and so on, that CAN influence spotting the tiny dots at distance. Also, adjusting the Gamma option ingame does make some difference.

Try the same test with open canopy (SSAO) , otherwise irrelevant, and try spotting Lagg from 109,  many Russian pilots flew with open canopy, reasons are well documented, maybe this is implemented??
