I believe the image to be plausibly true based on the empennage, even though it's hard to see in the B&W photo it is a different color to the rest of the plane (more than likely yellow based on other instances where captured planes were flown), and also;

""Several P-51s were captured by the Luftwaffe as Beuteflugzeug ("captured aircraft") following crash landings. These aircraft were subsequently repaired and test-flown by the Zirkus Rosarius, or Rosarius Staffel, the official Erprobungskommando of the Luftwaffe High Command, for combat evaluation at Göttingen. The aircraft were repainted with German markings and bright yellow nose and belly for identification. A number of P-51B/P-51Cs – including examples marked with Luftwaffe Geschwaderkennung codes T9+CK, T9+FK, T9+HK and T9+PK (with the "T9" prefix not known to be officially assigned to any existing Luftwaffe formation from their own records, outside of the photos of Zirkus Rosarius-flown aircraft) — with a total of three captured P-51Ds also flown by the unit.[64] Some of these P-51s were found by Allied forces at the end of the war; others crashed during testing.[65] The Mustang is also listed in the appendix to the novel KG 200 as having been flown by the German secret operations unit KG 200, which tested, evaluated and sometimes clandestinely operated captured enemy aircraft during World War II. ""

Interesting. Led me onto finding this: "The unit also carried out a variety of special missions, like parachuting spies behind enemy lines, operating radar-jamming aircraft, carrying out long-range transport flights to Japan, clandestine bombing missions and infiltrating American bomber formations with captured aircraft in an attempt to spread confusion. However, most of the information concerning these missions comes from a single POW and is doubted by several aviation history researchers. On 1 December 1943 a B-17 was sighted with the letters "D" above another identification letter "B". It also had a square marking, that of the 303rd Bomb Group. This was the identity of B-17F-111-BO 42-30604 Badger Beauty V, actually from the 350th Bomb Group of the "Bloody Century" 100 BG, which used the "square-D" tail marking in service. This machine was captured but it was never repaired or used by the Luftwaffe. When re-captured the B-17 was stated as having been preserved in Boeing's museum,[who?] but is not known still to be in existence in the 21st century.[citation needed] On the same day, a lone B-24 joined a bomber formation from the 44th Bomb Group. It was reported to have been a machine carrying the markings of a 392nd Bomb Group aircraft. However this unit did not become operational until 9 December.[15]

During one of those missions, on 27 June 1944, a B-17 of KG 200, with Luftwaffe Geschwaderkennung code A3+FB, landed in Manises airport (Valencia) and was interned by the Spanish government.[16]"

Could also be from a film, they used all sorts of aircraft for Luftwaffe fighter stand ins.

Nope. It's from the movie "Fighter Squadron".

Well finally. Seems like I'm always about two steps behind you most times with posts like this. ;)

BTW, it's a terrible movie but fun to watch. It's on Turner Classic Movies every so often. Its only redeeming qualities are some great color shots of P-47s. A lot of the film was shot not far from where I live.

Here is a scene from the movie "Fighter Squadron" with the three Mustangs in Luftwaffe garb.

Looks quite cheap, but also very innovative, using colored gun camera footage.

By the way at 2:03, Could it be a Ta-152? (because of the elevator shape and long wingspan)

No. That clip is from a WWII era documentary called "The Last Bomb". The fighter shown is a Japanese fighter as it over flew a B-29 formation.
