D_Konig Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Now I know the game ramps up difficulty as you go but, all of a sudden (im at level 6) on my mission map, it used to show where my plane was and the odd time where friendly and enemy planes were. Maybe simulating radio contact, I'm not sure - but I had to use my map to see them if they were there at all. I was flying on expert mode. All of a sudden its gone entirely and im navigating completely on my own and the map never shows friendlies or enemies nomatter how close I am. Did this change with the pilot level, or did I do something? I was playing on the syndicate server earlier and it was like that...
Feathered_IV Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) I haven't played for some time, but I think that was changed in the last patch. The universal GPS can be switched on and off in settings. A good feature that as I always like to make my own way about the place. Edited February 2, 2015 by Feathered_IV
Willy__ Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) It changed with the patches. You can have the GPS back on the campaign on expert difficult if you press the I (i) button. Some servers have that function disabled, like Syndicate server, there you dont have your plane marked on the map and must navigate on your own. -edit- oh, hey Mack! Nice flying with you earlier! D_Konig Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Haha hey istruba - too bad there wasnt much to shoot at. Im still getting used to the sensitivity of the rudder pedals and braking - taxiing is a learned skill it appears lol Ahhh the I key.. i did press that out of reflex from Cliffs of Dover.. on the syndicate server trying to start my engine but its a different key now hah. I kind of enjoy the no icons or anything, but its annoying in campaign especially with useless wingmen and no way to ask ground control where to go or anything. I flew two last night like that and one of them i missed the targets entirely on a night intercept mission. Usually my wingmen or my AI self somehow spot enemy planes at inhuman distances and they get plotted on the map for a bit so I know where to go. Could people really see anything that quickly in real life? Even if i zoom in max I cant see anything, its ridiculous how they recognize not only aircraft but which side its on from 8km away lol
Sokol1 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Even with "GPS" (I) turned OFF if press "MY plane" button the camera focus in your plane over the full screen map, given you idea where you are.
