Defaye Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) I sometimes get this issue in which I'm having to combat the pitch and mixture from reducing to nil after starting the engine. I have no other bind for these controls so it's not some weird joystick lever issue. It doesn't happen all the time either. The stop gap solution for me is to spam both prop pitch and mixture ++ after engine start. When I see them dropping, it halts the drop, and allows me to put it back up to 100%. It reduces so fast however that it is a major issue otherwise and was difficult to figure out what was going wrong if you're not watching prompts carefully. Edited January 31, 2015 by Defaye
VBF-12_Snake9 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 If you place them at 100% before you start your engine, they will return to 100%. I move all rads and levers before I start engine. But yea it should be fixed.
Yakdriver Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 and that is exactly what one should do - watch the prompts carefully.me too was surprised that sometimes the engine quit on me after firing up properly. But then the "E" button is so easy that i find that almost arcadish - in the beta phase you actually HAD TO put the levers in the right position prior to firing everything up - or the engine would not start. so Yea, Pilot must pay attention to lever position for power/pressure, Mixture, prop pitch. and also play around with the Stick to calibrate [at times] and keep the feet on the brakes These are not cars, where you turn the keys and everything works as expected, nonstop, for years.run your personal checklist, that's what it is there for... ?
