Any advice on landing the LaGG-3?

My Problem is not the landing itself, but stopping the aircraft without making a 360 turn at the end.

So far, I only managed to keep her straight once and I stopped somewhere in the snow behind the runway.

I did not find any advice or tutorials. All the vids on youtube cut out before the aircraft comes to a full stop. Most likely all these guys were not able to do it either

I do not have this problems with the other aircraft. But they have a lockable tail-wheel, which the LaGG-3 does not have.

There are many posts on this subject, and an excellent tutorial by Requiem here , or here by another guy , but to summarize it please just make sure:

1) You touch down in 3 points, at a speed preferably not in excess of 170km/h

2) After you touch down, avoid using brakes, but instead use brisk but effective rudder inputs to stay aligned during rollout - be proactive!

3) Add some power near the end of the landing run to get some effectiveness from your rudder, and apply brakes ONLY with NO RUDDER INPUT - rudder centered !

4) Only bellow 40 km/h can you start using brakes mixed with rudder input, but even so, very carefully!

I'd like to congratulate you on having to know how to land it...many missions don't get that far ;)

Yes that's true. I have to admit that I get shot down very often too. Much more often than in the german planes.

It can be done pretty simply and repeatedly.

This should help.

Never really had problems with Landing the Lagg, I guess just as everyone else is saying land straight with all three wheels at once and then just gently use the rudder to keep the nose pointing at the end of the runway, most peoples problems is over compensating the actions of an aircraft. If you are still struggling put a little throttle on 5-10% to get some more airflow over the rudder to get a bit more authority over it, of course this will mean more breaking and a longer landing distance. If you are still struggling then practice is the only option.
