1./JG42Nephris Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Am watching the amazing presentation with all night effects and stuff and really enjoying it, but one question came up, and noone within the TS channel was able to gimme a answer. Is ground warfare possible at all? I never saw firing tanks in videos or screenshots. I guess it will be possible, but I would like to know. edit: just had the chance to post a last question to Jason in TS. AI already does ground battles in his Alpha. kestrel79 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 My guess is they just don't want to show it yet since the effects aren't done yet.
J4SCrisZeri Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Agree with Kestrel. I guess effects are a crucial node for the final result. Maybe we haven't seen much shooting, bombing, tracers for the same reason yet?
Finkeren Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Given that both explosions and tracers look pretty good in RoF, I think it's fair to expect that ground war is going to look pretty good in BoS, even if we won't have thousands of infantry modelled.
JG1_Pragr Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) I can't talk about BoS. But I think we can use RoF as an example, although WWI environment is quite stable in 99%. But on some online maps we have yet tank platoon attacks against fortifications defended by guns. They are fighting each other visually without any problem. Actually you can see the fight from quite distance. So in RoF if there is no static front line, the environment is really vital and dynamic. Edited September 27, 2013 by II./JG1_Pragr
