Stupid question of the month: snow in BoS

I know, I know, but please have mercy.

I have seen great movies here and there, with dark sky and strong snow storms, but I have never seen snow in MY copy of the game.  I tried several different daytimes and weather settings, but nothing.

Where is my fail, please?

QMB, parked  weather overcast, you will se what you want   pre/post sunset best for dark sky if you fly through and above overcast..well you can guess

 

or do Ghost in the snow single mission (hard)

 

It is fairly common to come across random 'snow' missions in campaign

So I assume snow (given the correct conditions) still is a random event, not something I can set and see everytime I want it?

Sorry I was not clear, if you set overcast in a mission where you can set weather it will snow. Weather and time is random per mission in campaign,> If you fly/airstart above the clouds it will not be snowing regardless of weather set

 

If you set time at around sunset you will get pinkish horizon and not so 'threatening sky'

Your not alone - I have never seen it snow either. I too need to try out the suggestions above. Thanks for asking the question.

yes, I was dreaming of huge HE111 squadrons, heading to the target in the snow, with white winter skins, and me on a LA5, ready to raise hell

Like Dakpilot said, some of the campaign missions randomly happen to be in falling snow conditions, maybe 5 - 10% of all campaign missions. This was in expert mode, and full mission (take off from the airfield).

The Ghost in the Snow mission is damn good

In the campaign it always snows in transport intercept missions. I don't know why this was done by the developers, maybe it is a bug.
