Weegie Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Well I thought I had Flight FX working but no, it was having no effect on the game So I thought I'd try the Sweet FX configurator running Sweet FX 1.5.1 and ended up having to reload the game about 4 times now as every time I try it, it screws up something and the launcher refuses to launch the game So what I've learned so far Turn off Antialiasing in the graphics setting In Game I've pointed the configurator to the starter file being IL2.exe, then made the main folder and the folder for Sweet FX directory, Data. Enabled the "Split the Sweet FX install" option, pointing the split install folder to bin\Game (this installs the injector and a couple of other files to the bin\Game directory and everything else to Data) I'm not sure but I've seen references to only turning Sweet FX on after I've started the main game Anything else I'm missing, because I'm getting real tired of re-installing the game. any help or advice appreciated. I tried searching but a lot of the advice is scattered everywhere. If I get the configurator working I'm going to write a "How To thread" for idiots like me so others don't have to go through the complete pain of having to do this
Dakpilot Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Rather than re-installing do a copy paste of working BoS and have two installs..then when it goes wrong it is only a few seconds to have another version ready to mod. You can have more than 1 instance of BoS installed, just can only log in and fly one at a time Cheers Dakpilot
Weegie Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Dakpilot Thanks for that, I never knew, very handy. I deleted the game and Sweet FX and the configurator from the computer Did a clean re-install of BoS, and made a backup copy Checked it worked, then set the configurator back up as I've found out from trial and error. Reopened BoS & bingo it works a treat. I'll look into either doing a video or a how to on here and maybe one of the devs will be kind enough to pin it. Its a great tool and using settings I found in here I have sharper instruments and a bluer snow which takes the edge off the glare. Makes it all worthwhile but (for me anyway) it was a bit of a struggle. I prefer the configurator to Flight FX as it runs the latest version of Sweet FX Happy Bunny
