taffy2jeffmorgan Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi All. Could someone tell me how to apply in-game on-screen info, [commands and flight/mission] I was watching Mastiff flying one of his Chir front missions and he was bringing up this on screen info the closer he got to the action. I was totally unaware of this option. The other question is- Landing speeds of both German and Russian fighters [Full Flaps] my approach and decent is right but i,m never too sure about the speed ? Cheers. JM.
Bearcat Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 What do you mean by in game onscreen info. The map key is M.. and the icons key is I. Is that what you mean? As for speeds.. I suggest that yo take a plane up and find it's stall speed... get enough alt sop you can recover.. fly straight and level and chop your throttle till you become unstable.. note that speed.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) hot key for hud is H and I, O key for the big map. the squadron flight commands is Tilde key. Bf109 I did a great landing on mission#7 of Chir Front, I was approach at 200kph, and stuck it at about 160kph. no bounce. Edited January 20, 2015 by 71st_Mastiff

Sokol1 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi All. I was totally unaware of this option. You are talking about those white text message reporting enemy flights, quadrant positions? This is "radio call" (scripts) insert on mission be his designer - to see the text requires that HUD (H) are on (or will hear only the voice in German). At moment exclusive on Veteran66 missions.
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The other question is- Landing speeds of both German and Russian fighters [Full Flaps] my approach and decent is right but i,m never too sure about the speed ? JM, You may already be familiar with the USSR and German sub-forms within Tutorials and Manuals which have a video tutorial for those aircraft by Requiem. Also the Pinned Cockpit At-A-Glance Reference Cards put together by Lodebeard has Landing, Takeoff, Cruise etc... settings for the aircraft as well.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 Thank you Gentlemen for your help.

You can determine your approach speed that way : - Set flaps at landing position - Reduce throttle at min - Keep horizontal flight and wait for stall Note speed when stalling : this is Vs Your approach speed (without wind) should be Vs x 1,3 Exemple : stall at 150 km/h ---> approach 150 x 1,3 = 195 km/h You have to major your approach speed half of the wind front component speed to be safe (if not, your air speed will suddenly decrease near the ground because of the wind gradient, and you will stall before touch the runway). Exemple : approach without wind 195 km/h ; wind speed (front component) 20 km/h ; approach 195 +10 = 205 km/h Best regards. Edited January 20, 2015 by F/JG300_Touch
BzKBravoZulu Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Wow, I didn't realise how technical guys get with the exact number. Nice one guys... I keep it really simple. The golden number is 200km for pretty much any fighter. And by 200km I mean... As long as I cross the theshold at 200km its pretty much a prefect landing everytime oh oh oh, one more thing. Ground effect seems a little weak in BOS so try be more active on your Hold Off until you're ready to put her down... Otherwise you'll get that dreaded bounce.
