Rjel Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Surprised no one has mentioned Iron Eagle 2 yet. If they do, ban them.
thx1138 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 My favorite war movie ? The one my younger son's (11 Bravo) squadmates made while in Iraq. Sorry I can't show ya all but it's a family kind of thing. (maybe one of these days) Let's just say he is my war hero, he went through a lot and came out mostly unscathed, that was the best part of it !!!!!!!!!!
MarcoRossolini Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I have a few reservations about BoB and the like. It felt just rather pro-American and the soldiers just seemed like saints. Compare what the characters get up to in Catch-22 to what the characters get up to in BoB. Then consider what most males are like in a male environment and then see which story comes out on top for realism. Also it'd be nice if we something other than Americans winning the war for a change... I'd love a good series on the Eastern Front (where the real war was going on mind you). 1

I refuse to see another "super hero glory boys" movie.
MarcoRossolini Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I have to use the example here of the Soviet 70s film series "liberation" where despite it being the cold war and all that, the British and Americans are still portrayed for a decent part of the film. Sure they aren't portrayed in the greatest light but imagine a similar Hollywood series, I'd doubt the Soviets would given much more than a passing comment.
II./JG27_Rich Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I always forget "The Train" 1964 Black & White film..excellent! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3yR0aNriPM
