BOS Map Scale

Hey everyone,

Can anyone tell me what the scale of the map for BOS is?  I know I can get the headings to points without the scale, but I would also like to plot points on map in game using a grid system, either 6 or 8 digit.  This serves no point other than to get specific locations, but this is a sim so.... I want to do it.

Anyway, I was looking for something like 1:50000, 1:25000, or 1:250000 (standard US Military map scales).  It might be that BOS doesn't have a scale, which I would like to know too so I can get started on making a protractor to work with this map.

Anyway, sorry if there is a thread about this already, the only thing I saw was something stating 1:1 scale which confused me.

Thanks,

The grids are 10 x 10 km. The scale will depend on the resolution that you use when you display it on the screen, or when you print it out.

Alright, new question:

After figuring out the scale is whatever I set it to using zoom, I plotted some points, got the headings, and flew a quick mission just to discover that holding a heading perfectly didn't bring me to my plotted location. So I have to ask:

What is the declination on this map? If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't hate, posting from my cell. Errors in spelling and grammer will occur.

If you are asking about the magnetic variation - it's 0 degrees in game. It should be 6° 47' 52" E for December 1942 at Stalingrad, but I'm afraid it's currently not implemented. I have filed a question to the developers about this at: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/7-questions-developers/?p=216605, but there wasn't any response yet.

So if there's no wind then the correct compass heading will get you to your destination.

huh, guess the map scale I used was just to small then to get the correct azimuth.  Glad to see someone else here is aware of something as minuscule as magnetic deviation (or declination as we called it in the Army, but then again we weren't the Airforce).

Thanks for the info
