JohnHardtack Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I am guilty of being the proud owner of TrackIR 3, TrackIR 4 and TrackIR 5, but I have never taken the time to really learn how to properly configure a profile. UNTIL NOW! Building on Gary Abbott's excellent YouTube tutorial on TrackIR 5 profiling technique, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TASEXUd4Oto I spent a "ton o' time" tweaking a profile that seems to work both smoothly and give the viewing scope and range to match the most stringent requirements of BoS. Here it is: "JohnHardtack v 2.0.xml" Hopefully, this will benefit some of you out there by "putting your head on a swivel." Cheers. JohnHardtack v. 2.0.xml 2 3
oneeyeddog Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Thanks for taking the time to make this profile and Thanks too for the link to the Tutorial.
3./JG15_Hans Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 How are your "speed" and "smooth" configs?
Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 THANK YOU!!!! It came in jut the right time. Just yesterday I was fighting with my TIR, and eventualy ended up using again the side ( led ) unit instead of the top-of-the-hat silly one because my TIR 5 became jumpy lateky ... I alternate between to profiles created long ago by Requiem, 6DOF and 2014, but I will gladly try this one!
VA_NAVY Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I put this in my profiles folder and it does not show up as option?
DD_Arthur Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I put this in my profiles folder and it does not show up as option? For me neither. A bit of Googling reveals that to add a profile TrackIr has to be run as administrator. Ludicrous.
Bando Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 You are looking in the right folder? C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles 1 1
DD_Arthur Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 You are looking in the right folder? C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles That's interesting. I don't have an AppData folder there. My TrackIR install lives in C > Programme Files (x86) > Natural Point > TrackIR5
Bando Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) What version are you running? I believe with V5.* NP made the default for the profiles different from before. I have my profiles as listed above and they work. On the place where you state they are, I have only the default profile, which I am not using. I'm pretty sure the place where to put your profiles is somewhere else. Try to make a test profile, give it a name like test or so and see where the program saves this file (let windows search for it). Hope this helps. EDIT: The Appdata folder is hidden by windows. If you can get windows to show you the hidden folders you will find your profiles. Edited October 11, 2016 by Bando
LLv34_Taku Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Appdata folder could be hidden, just select "Show hidden files" or something in Window options.
DD_Arthur Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 @Bando, Taku and Rekt; :salute: Works a treat! Nice profile too 1
LuftRickie Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 You are looking in the right folder? C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles OMG THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JohnHardtack Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 Just revisited this post after a very long hiatus from BoS. Appreciate the good reviews, guys. Thanks. 1
