SR-F_Winger Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Does anyone else have this problem? Its pretty annoying. Always when i do a vertical highspeed turn my pilot head viewpoint slips down in the pit and doesnt go back up until i reset the view. This is PRETTY annoying and contraproductiove when trying to keep track of a target. I dont have that problem in either of the 109ers. I mean its fine if the head gets pushed down due to the pulled Gs but the amount it does in the 190 is just too much. Anyone else? Ill try and see if i can make a video form the pehnomenon / bug. Winger I dont have any of those issues you described, I can track just fine my targets. Using TrackIR5 here. A video would help a lot though. -edit- You can try de-select the "Headshaking" in the options menu, have you tried it ? Edited January 14, 2015 by istruba
SR-F_Winger Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 No i have this active. Ill try that. thanks for the tip.
=LD=Penshoon Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I find that when using the "Trueview" option in Trackir the viewpoint gradually sinks down as you are moving around and you need to constantly recenter. I deactivated the Y axis from tracking downwards(negative values) making it a bit harder to track targets as you can't lower your head but it's nice that the viewpoint never sinks below the gunsight. Got the tip from an old post about this issue on ROF forums: http://riseofflight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=266&t=14604 1

StG2_Manfred Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I've got the same Winger. I'm using TrackIR 5. I thought it's a game feature. When it's happening, I'm looking left/right and upwards (actually can't say exactly right now, I'm gonna test it next time it happens) and then it re-centers automatically. So I do nothing in the TIR software.
BlackDevil Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I think that is a "feature", not a bug. But I already disliked it in RoF. I don't think the head is going down, when pulling excessive g in RL. Furthermore it provokes you to through your head (with TIR) into the opposite direction, what makes it even more "unreal".
SR-F_Winger Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Being pushed in the seat is OK since its realistic. But by the degree i get pussed down in the FW is just beyond good and evil. I could literally "suck on my stick" - the controlstick that is:) when the GForces are done pushing me down:) Thats just oo much. In reality i would have to break my spine in order to get down this far:) Edited January 14, 2015 by VSG1_Winger
=LD=Penshoon Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I haven't played with enabled negative Y axis in ages so I can't really relate, but with the -Y axis disabled my view only gets pushed down a small amount and it helps with judging how much I am pulling gives me an idea of how much rudder I have to use to keep the turn coordinated. You can also use the Alt-F1 to go into head unlinked to cockpit view and get rid of this effect but then you can't use X, Y and Z axis of the trackir.
Zettman Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 S! I experienced this problem/feature too. I tried several self build profiles for TrackIR5 with huge deadzones around the centerview but ended up with deactivating the whole y-axis. Penshoons tip sounds good, I will try that out, since I will only lose half of my y-axis this way. Zettman
BlackDevil Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 But this shows another disadvantige of this feature. If you can bypass it, it doesn´t hit everyone the same way.

You still will see the center of your view dropping below your gunsight if you pull high G with y-axis deactivated. It will just move back to the center if you don't pull Gs anymore. With y-axis activated it seemed to move further and further down and after a dogfight it was sometimes of center by half of the sight without pulling Gs anymore (atleast for me). Zettman
