Not to be mistaken with work-out music, I like to listen to this while I work in 3ds max and/or photoshop:

What do you listen to? :D

I like every kind of music except jazz and hip hop (and ignoble Italian pop music... ), but while I'm working I listen to Metallica, Iron Maiden and every kind of music who can "cover" my blasphemies against the software.  :salute:

Just about anything by Acoustic Alchemy.. most jazz.. modern or classic.. classical music.. some old school ... and by old school I mean pretty much anything in the popular genre from 1960-1990 .. some hip hop.. but mostly the older stuff.. a lot of modern music leaves me cold especially a lot of the modern hip hop.. there are a few current artists that I like across genres but I find I like more individual songs as opposed to liking a certain artist like it was back in the day.. I also like a lot of ethnic music.. Celtic stuff is really nice.. reggae.. soka.. salsa .. regaton .. some modern Indian and Chinese stuff is pretty good too..

Since I've been teaching in a Junior/Senior high school here, I 've started being exposed to modern music - I lost all touch straight after I moved here back in 1998 and never really got back into it.

So far, from the recommendations from the girls (and many are very very pop-y and eminently hateable - the songs I mean, not the girls), I'd have to say that Bruno Mars would be my pick of the new breed. The guy can actually make music.

Plus my own little kids like some of his songs  .

However, on a kind of WW2 related music theme - if you have ever admired B17 noseart or WW2 US propaganda posters, like Rosie the Riveter,  then this Christina Aguilera video is for you. Again, one of my students suggested it for music in class. I tried it, heard the lyrics and immediately feared for my job as they were fairly explicit so I couldn't play it then, but after class I had another look. The key phrase here is 'look'. The song itself, well, it's not for everyone, but the video, especially when she dons the 'air force uniform' has a certain something about it. Oh my, yes.

This is a teaser. It needs to be seen in motion for best effect.

Vought Kingfisher maybe?  The dihedral looks a bit steep for the Wildcat and the tips are more curvy.

F_IV - your response both impresses and dismays me in equal measure. ;)

Definitely Manouche or Sinti, all the gitan stuff that came after their big example, Django Reinhardt and his troupe it always makes my day:

JD McPherson is getting a lot of time on my work PC to keep me getting too depressed with all the contracts and spreadsheets I work with.
