Quax Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) I did post several months ago, that IMO, based on a test flight of the BoS 109 by a 109 veteran (the review is on the way to the devs), the roll, induced by the rudder, is too high. Therefore the balanced speed is higher than it should be. Perhaps the review can convince the devs to do some more adjustements. The reduction of the rudder authority, that has already been done, was good. @Dakpilot: As I have been told, full rudder has been used at approach speed. The stall speed is going up of course. This reduces the margin to the stall speed considerably and I think only experienced pilots will have used this close to the ground at the final 180. I did show this manouver some time ago. Most probably the stall speed at full rudder is too high at the moment, due to the higher rollrate the rudder can induce. But this does in no case mean, that the FM does not allow "clean, stable sideslips" (like it has been accused: "...atm BoS and RoF are the only sims I know where it's impossible to accomplish a clean sideslip.") andyw248 Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 Therefore the balanced speed is higher than it should be. ... Most probably the stall speed at full rudder is too high at the moment, due to the higher rollrate the rudder can induce. That's exactly how it feels to me. Picking up some speed makes the slip much more stable because it reduces the tendency to bank into the direction of the rudder. ... but the 3 Russian fighters were never a problem side or fw slipping. The problem is **only** with the Axis fighters. Not sure I observed that. To me slipping the Yak and the 109 feel very similar. Only the 190 feels different to me.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Ice slipping Nicely done. You couldn't make that 90 degree left at 1:04?
indiaciki Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Just watched it. I didn't try. Just wanted to climb out. Is it possible to go 90 degrees?
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 No, totally kidding. At least not in that small of a radius and AC configuration.
