Yak-3 radio control kit build

I've always been aircraft geek all my life. I built models when I was 6 or 7yrs old. Then graduated to control line then r/c. I gave it all up when I got married and had kids. But a couple of years ago I wandered into a hobby store and saw a radio control sim for pic, complete with a standard controller that was USB. My wonderful wife surprised me for Christmas several years ago with it and I've had hours and hours of fun with it. It's what got me jump started back to wanting to fly sims like BOS.

 

My favorite planes have been the IL2 and the Yak-1. Somehow in my internet rambles the other day I came across this http://www.redstarrc.com/Yak-3.html

 

There is a great link on the page to a guy who goes thru the whole build process and then flying it. I've not delved into the process by which the small Russian co. Who makes the kit went thru. But by all I see it sure looks good and flys even better.

 

Just makes me wish they had a model for the r/c sim I have and especially a Yak-3 in BOS.
