Yours_truly_Ace Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 At least on the realistic servers; Everybody is just loitering over an airfield so that other players can see them on the map just to get into a dogfight. This makes everybody neglect the map objective and the whole thing turns into a vulture / dogfight thing. It's also extremely unrealstic to see a moving plane on a map. 6
1./JG42Nephris Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Big Plus! Big Über-Yes. Plz Remove Radar Cheat in Expert or give the option to remove it in DServer settings. This Radar Cheat has nothing to do with a Radio Observer at the airfield, just if that should be an argument. Plz remove the own plane icon form the map in expert mode. Each pilot flying in expert mode should know or at least be willing to learn navigating by the map or fly by time. Here again pls make it as an option only in the Dserver settings. 2
Sokol1 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Instead use "GPS/Radar" the "Observers" could make radios calls: "Enemy inbound from SW". etc. Similar to what is simulated in "Chir Front" missions. 1
I/JG27_Zimmi Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 +1 Make the expert mode a real expert mode, thanks.
Guest deleted@1562 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 -1 to remove it completely, +1 to make it an option for the dserver.
Y-29.Silky Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) +1 and out of the grave this comes. Edited February 4, 2015 by Silky
beepee Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 -1 to remove it completely, +1 to make it an option for the dserver. +1 on this. In MP I think it should be a decision for the server admins.
Yours_truly_Ace Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Anyone knows if this is now an option now in the recent 1009 patch?
BMA_FlyingShark Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Each pilot flying in expert mode should know or at least be willing to learn navigating by the map or fly by time. Indeed, and let the devs give us the possibility for course setting on the repeater compass.
71st_AH_Hooves Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 +1. This is silly, forcing technochat off should also be forceable.
coconut Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 It should be up to mission designers to decide if/which airfields should have radars. I suggest that the implicit spotter radius that comes with fakefields be removed. If I want a spotter there, I can add a unit with an entity with a spotter radius set to whatever I deem appropriate. Please, do not remove the spotter functionality entirely. Currently, this is the only dynamic feature visible on mission maps. If it is removed, it will be entirely impossible to have the map reflect the current status of objectives on the battlefield.
