Good afternoon, people.

While I was reading the well-known book by our dear Christer Bergström I came across a caption (page 57 to be precise) saying that (Shturmovik ace) Boris Yemelyanenko's memoirs had been translated to English, and I set out to briefly search for them in the internet, and I found this website: http://english.iremember.ru/. While I haven't yet found what I was looking for, it seems to contain a lot of interesting stuff, so here I share it.

Also, since I've seen that many topics regarding literature on this subject matter have been started, why not gathering all information on published or translated literature into one single topic?

And, I think I found the book I was looking for: Emelianenko, Vasilii. Red star against the swastika. London : Greenhill, 2005. Also, on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Star-Against-Swastika-Eastern/dp/1853676497

Yes, it was already mentioned into another topic, but since I did not know the title...

Saluti!

Thanks a lot for this, Picchio. I have just read all the Soviet pilot accounts this evening, and it has made for interesting reading. One in particular also has some shots of real ground attacks taken from the cockpit of the Il2. They'll be very handy for people wishing to make highly detailed target areas or airbases.

What an amazing find! I'm reading the memoir at the top, by an infantryman, Lazarevich. Very dramatic, his story includes a clumsy failure (causing the deaths of two of his squadmates), and at one point he almost gets executed by the NKVD.
