Panzerlang Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I'm wondering if the DM will be so complex as to model cannon-rounds deflecting off the surface of a plane if fired at sufficiently an oblique angle? Or at least detonating externally to the surface they otherwise would have penetrated if not fired at so oblique an angle? I understand there are limits to how much can be calculated on the fly, I'm just curious.
Crow Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) I don't remember if this is in RoF, but I would guess you should look there for the answer. If it's in RoF, it'll be in BoS for sure. I'd also love to know if jammed guns will be a thing, and how they will be modeled if so. I liked IL-2's method of only jamming in response to damage, since most WWII aircraft can't reset jams until they are on the ground. Edited September 21, 2013 by Crow
eklund Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 If i remember correctly i have seen rounds ricochet of planes in ROF. Not sure though.
Finkeren Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Ricochets are modelled in RoF, but they're kind of basic. I think I remember seeing a statement about it being a focus in BoS development to make them more realistic.
