These planes are easily worth their full asking price, so at this price they're a steal!

Bf 109 K4 for 15 € anyone?

Seriously I already closed my pocket until EDGE and decent WW2 stuff arrives. Nice sale though, hope you all get what you like. :salute:

I've got couple of DCS aircraft but have found them a bit boring after learning the startup sequence, which feels like the majority of the game.  The world-content is pretty slim.

I have been looking at the Flaming Cliffs addon and wondered if that was a more complete package.  Does anyone else use it and have any comments on its gameplay value?

If you don't like the DCS modules you have (or better yet, aren't thrilled with them), I'd hold off. I can't say for sure that you'd be disappointed, but there's a good chance you may be.

It's definitely a more "complete" package, and it feels like the game that DCS world was designed for. The aircraft are much simpler, but the Mighty Mighty and the Flanker now have AFMs, which is nice. Because the systems are "simple," there's much less interaction. I like them a lot, however, because it's fun to work the radar / IRSTS. There's a lot of tactical flying going on in the game; it's not just "I pickle, you die" as some may think.

If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, though, I'd stick with what you have. If you're primarily a WWII flight sim fan who just likes to fly jets casually, I don't think you'll like it. If you genuinely like jets, it's a good time. I love flying the Flanker -- there's nothing like getting to the merge undetected, stern converting, and lighting up a couple of Eagles ;). It's also, to me, a fascinating insight into the Russian BVR design / employment mentality.

However, at it's current price, it's also really hard to go wrong with. It's the cost of a somewhat upscale drink at the moment.

I hope that helps...clear as mud probably.
