SOLIDKREATE Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I was wondering I know this is a cheap price $4.99 USD but I am weary of MSFX. Is it work buying?
Relix Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 it is pretty much the same as the original. They will update it in the future. For 5 bucks i picked it up
voncrapenhauser Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) Are we talking about flight Microsoft flight simulator X?, as this programme is nine years old this year I have had it from release. It's ok ish for an old Sim compared to new Sims the graphics are very dated in it's unmoded form. With some official and unofficial add ons it's a good representation of flight but dated now. I still play it every now and then though. At that price to be honest is a bargain. Edited January 1, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
Mastermariner Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 http://www.winbeta.org/news/history-microsoft-flight-simulator-franchise-origins-end-and-new-beginning Will there be a new one 2015? Master
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 What turned me off FSX in the end was the lack of detailed FMs (serious lack of stall and spin physics), it's dated graphics and of course the hardware issue. I still can't run it flurently on max settings even with my recent pc. I surely enjoyed FS 2004 a lot though. WHat puzzles me is that some aorcraft simply were ported 1:1 into FSX (with same FMs and shabby 2d cockpits) which is a shame, but be it. I eventually became a combat online pilot only but maybe the new Flight Simulator can catch my interest again.
9./JG27golani79 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I got me FSX at the Steam deals but I´m really disappointed with the flightmodel - if I had known that it was that bad I´d never bought it.

Master I love how they describe Microsoft flight as " certain short-lived Microsoft effort was made to re-establish ties with Flight Simulator enthusiasts as well as gain a larger audience, but it only added insult to injury so it didn’t deserve a mention."

Master Sweet! with todays graphics It could be awesome. I got me FSX at the Steam deals but I´m really disappointed with the flightmodel - if I had known that it was that bad I´d never bought it. Yes was great in its day but agreed the FMs, especially the gliders are very wrong and spins and stalls are hopeless ,but it did teach the basics, like circuits and radio etiquette. What turned me off FSX in the end was the lack of detailed FMs (serious lack of stall and spin physics), it's dated graphics and of course the hardware issue. I still can't run it flurently on max settings even with my recent pc. I surely enjoyed FS 2004 a lot though. The flight models are really outdated now too.
SvAF/F16_Dark_P Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) FSX is nice if you have good 3rd party adons, the Airplanes from example A2A simulations is just awesome! i have their P-51 and that thing is a beast. There FM's are as real as you can get with their Accu-Sim updates, and with this you even have to maintain your airplanes, repairing them and make oil changes etc. Edited January 4, 2015 by Dark_P
SOLIDKREATE Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 I think I'll wait for FSXV (2015).
