Uriah Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 i have been away playing other combat flight sims for about a month and returned to BoS last night. I had a terrible time with just taxing about in my Yak1. But then I accidentally moved my lever for mixture and the plane came to life. I had just forgotten this peculiarity about BoS as opposed to CLOD (which has its own peculiarities). So for at least coming back from CLOD what all things do I need to remember? Is this it? Starting off: After hitting the key for engine start, just be patient, it takes about 30 seconds to respond. Move the mixture - default is max lean No need to tap breaks (maybe unlock tail wheel) No magnetos or fuel cock
Sokol1 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Think that yo need write a detailed check-list for his games. Always after couple of months you forget something about one or another. 1
SCG_Tzigy Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Pitch, radiators, trim..activate gunners..
Yakdriver Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Well the question is asked in an impossible-to-answer way. i can not remind you of things you have forgotten if i do not know what you have forgotten I can not know that, because you can not tell me what you forgot - because you did just that. Forget. But common things that i pay attention to: engine startup - pay attention to mixture and power settings Yaks and LaGGs - change turbo at 2000m Oil and water radiators are possibly separated - check both. in case of problems empty the updates folder. 1
Willy__ Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) Plus, I really like how sometimes the startup fails in il-2 depending for instance in OAT! It fails because you either forgot to set the mixture to 100% or you left the throttle in the wrong position, otherwise theres no chance to "fail to start the engine" I guess. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Edited December 28, 2014 by istruba
3instein Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Pitch, radiators, trim..activate gunners.. What do you mean by "activate gunners"? Mick.
Sokol1 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) What do you mean by "activate gunners"? The game have strange choices, for example: bombs safety fuses start OFF - so dozen of planes are blow up in runway... But gunners start in "sleep" mode, is need open the orders menu (the key at left of 1 key), press F3 (gunners) and then F2 (fire at will) or other fire option (or use some Alt+ shortcut).
