ST_ami7b5 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 All of them... OK , 1. I-16/Bf-110 3. P-40 4. Yak7b 5. I-15
Lusekofte Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I think to gat a fair balance witch it right now isn't . is to have HS-129 and IL-4 or SB-3 @you need a clean Russian level bomber and a counterpart to PE-2 , having the JU 87 the dive-bomb feature is covered. A good substitute would be a JU 88 with unlock to the G6
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Bf110 definetly. It was heavily used in ground attack roles and was the Luftwaffe's primary Schlachtflugzeug prior the Hs 129. It owuld be a great mulltipurpose plane with underwhelming performance, but good protection and firepower. Agree on having the IL-4 as counterpart to the He 111. Still the Peshka has too high payload to be counted as a direct counterpart to the Stuka, so it's more or less in between those. 3
SOLIDKREATE Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) Zerstörer all the way! You have to love that big yellow nose and those white/green spinners. Plus the devastating load out of the Bf-110G-2. *This one is actually a C-7 and what really flew on the front. Edited January 5, 2015 by SPEKTRE76 1
Yakmaster Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 It has to be I-185 It fits in DLC type airplane for BoS, It never served in BoS (even better if maybe secret documents show it did show up in small numbers who knows), Its airplane of that era, so it could be used in BoS if squads did get them. I remember lot of players liked that airplane on DF servers, so people would maybe buy it in bigger numbers then listed airplanes. And if it is announced or pictures show up on forum it would stir up the forums. Must be choice no.1 for next fighter airplane to add
BlitzPig_EL Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Of course I voted P 40, but I would also hope the Yak 7B would make it in soon. A great pairing would be the I-153 and HS 123. We need some biplane love in this sim. 1
TheElf Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I am torn. I really want the Rata, but I had to vote P-40. Not only does it fit with the Lend Lease Planes on the Russian front, it would be a ready fit for either a Mediterranean or Pacific Expansion... So P-40 it is...
Yazh-29 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) - La-5FN - IL-2 M3 - IL-4 - Yak-3 - MC 200 - Bf 110 - Fw 190A-4/U3 - Hs 129B-2/R2 - Ju 52 Edited December 28, 2014 by =RV=GUIGNOL
Trinkof Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 ... MMMh if we are still talking about plane participating battle of Stalingrad : The yak 9 without hesiation, but you did not made the vote possible in your poll
voncrapenhauser Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I am torn. I really want the Rata, but I had to vote P-40. Not only does it fit with the Lend Lease Planes on the Russian front, it would be a ready fit for either a Mediterranean or Pacific Expansion... So P-40 it is... Same. I like the p40....but I like the Rata too......Only one way to find out......Fight!!!
Y-29.Silky Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) P-40 - The intensity of the aerial combat here was so fierce that even the experienced and well-trained regiment was burned up like a match in this hell in just a week. It was not so bad at first - on 29 August the pilots shot down a Bf-109, Ju-88, and FW-189 at the cost of a single P-40E; on 30 August-5 Bf-109Fs and 5 He-111s with the loss of 3 P-40Es; on the 31st-10 Bf-109Fs, 1 He-111, and 1 Ju-87 for 2 destroyed and 2 damaged P-40Es. But the crossover came on 5 September - it cost 4 Kittyhawks (two destroyed in combat and two in a mid-air collision) for 2 Bf-109Fs and 1 Ju-88. The regiment commander, Major V. M. Naydenko, was shot down and seriously wounded on this day. The regiment flew a total of 194 aircraft sorties by 13 September 1942, all of which (rare occasion!) were combat sorties that involved engagement with the enemy. The greater share (163 combat sorties) was to escort Il-2 Shturmoviks. The pilots of 126 IAP conducted 29 group and 24 individual aerial engagements in which 36 enemy aircraft were destroyed (23 Bf-109F, 6 He-111, 3 Ju-88, 1 Bf-110, 1 Ju-87, 1 Hs-123, and 1 FW-189). The regiment lost 13 aircraft, 7 pilots did not return from combat missions, and 5 were wounded Re-post: Lets be a little more historically accurate.. Russia needs something to counter the BF-109's. BMA_FlyingShark Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I would like to see them all of course but if I have to choose, then the P40 please. It's a plane that has been used in this theatre and it's also a good choice for people who are more interested in non Russian planes.
Feathered_IV Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 110 doesn't do anything that the Pe-2 doesn't do already.
Danziger Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 MiG-3 with BK pods! Yak-1B LaGG-3 series 4 LaGG-3 series 35 Il-2M I-16
33lima Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 My wish list, FWIW, based on relevance to the current theatre, rather than personal preference: Luftwaffe; 1. Ju 52 (on the way) 2. Bf 110 3. Ju 88 4. Hs 129 VVS: 1. Yak-1B or -9 2. Il-4 3. P-40
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) 110 doesn't do anything that the Pe-2 doesn't do already. Sry, don't want to introduce endless discussions, but this is wrong. The Bf-110 only saw service as a bomber interceptor and ground attack aircraft (Schlachtflugzeug), for which it was fitted with various "Rüstsätze" like machinegun pods, Bk.37s and very special bombs for tank hunting. It has great firepower as well so it can take on bombers and Ilyushins with ease unlike the Peshka. which is more of a Reconnisance - Light bomber hybrid. WIth it's various field kits and weapon selections ingame it could be a great ground attack aircaft matching the IL-2 as well as a great bomber interceptor, depending on what kits you chose. It's undoubtly a very interetsing plane for this theatre. Edited December 28, 2014 by Stab/JG26_5tuka 5

BeastyBaiter Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Toss up between P-40 and Bf-110. Both very important planes of the period, even if not at stalingrad specifically. Voted P-40 as I would use it more.

[KWN]T-oddball Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 My apologies gents , the YAK should not be on the list or any variation of the LAGG, this poll should be about totally new airframes not versions.
BigMotor Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I enjoy flying the heavies so Ju52 and Ju88 please.

Ah ok, in that case I choose I15 as the I153 was based on it Second choice is the P40 not on your list but above all on mine is, ofcourse, the P39 Edited December 28, 2014 by Roast
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I love the P-40 but voted for the Bf-110 as IT is best qualified for what you asked. Chief
Danziger Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 1: MiG-3 2: MiG-3 3: MiG-3 4: Yak-1b I wanted to push the green arrow a few times for this post but it does not let me.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Hey, completely overlooked that. Where the H is the P-39 in this poll? Voted Bf 110. 1
Y-29.Silky Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Mig-3 - Never flew over Stalingrad.P-39 - War Thunder. IL-4 - Never flew over Stalingrad. I-16 - Replaced by the Lagg-3, before Stalingrad. It'd be awful for the next aircraft to be something that wasn't even in the battle over one that has, especially one that played a significant role. We need a new airframe as mentioned above. But even the Bf-110 was very limited at Stalingrad due to it's vulnerability, most of them were wiped out over England, and were very limited in the whole Eastern Front at that. The Ju-88 played a much bigger role in bombings and the airlift.1. P-40 2. Ju-88
[KWN]T-oddball Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 Hey, completely overlooked that. Where the H is the P-39 in this poll? Voted Bf 110. it is my understading that the p-39 was only in very limited numbers for stalingrad, thats why I did not include it. The majority of American Airacobras reached the Soviet Union from the south, via Teheran. In November 1942 the 25th ZAP was set up at Aji-Kabul in Azerbaijan. Aircraft were assembled at Abadan, before being ferried to Aji-Kabul where they were given to their eventual end users. The P-39 would be at its most effective on the southern fronts, where it would be used by Grigori Rechkalov and Aleksandr Poykryshikin, the 2nd and 3rd ranked Soviet Aces. A limited number of aircraft probably fought at Stalingrad, but they rose to real prominence in the post-Stalingrad battle of the Kuban River. http://www.historyofwar.org/articles/weapons_P-39_Airacobra_Soviet.html
KodiakJac Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 110 doesn't do anything that the Pe-2 doesn't do already. Yes it does. It can attack Russian planes and ground forces!
Danziger Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 P-39 - War Thunder. I don't know why you would think the P-39 is only in War Thunder. It was a real plane in real life that fought in WW2. The MiG-3 still kicks ass whether it was at Stalingrad or not. Just like the vast majority of normal people are happy to have the Macchi 202, I am sure the MiG-3 wouldn't send people into a deep depression.
Lusekofte Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) For the fun I really would like the P-39, P-40 and SU-2. I really want the IL-4 . JU-88 is just crying to get in , For a future Kursk scenario HS-129, there are so many. I just hope the developers see the potential for earning more money and revitalize the game later on. And I hope we will learn to appreciate what we actually get and not only show our gratitude with new demands The 110 did not have a success in eastern front because of the low altitude the fights where done, the PE-2 have absolutely no fighter qualities what so ever, witch the PE-3 proved. The 110 was evaluated as a better day fighter than the Beufighter by RAF test pilots. Edited December 29, 2014 by LuseKofte 1
SE.VH_Boemundo Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I voted for the BF-110 but i am not sure they flew over Stalingrad!
Feathered_IV Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Yes it does. It can attack Russian planes and ground forces! same shit, different bucket
ACG_Smokejumper Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 P-40, perhaps it will help encourage people to play the Russian side more. I play both but notice it seems Axis heavy more often.
