Don Quijote,

Your skin is fantastic and one of the best I've seen. Is it possible to make it with historical markings?

+1  the skins one of the best I have seen

Nice skin, but 3./JG51 used braun color for numbers, not yellow.

Also, possibly Erwin Fleig was a pilot of "Braun 7", not Krafft.

Hi Panzerbar, Thank you for the feedback. I made this skin base on a profile in a book. The A/C in the 1st picture you post looks like yellow 7 for me. maybe it's not the same one as in your 2nd and 3rd picture.

Gustav - it must be the same, because - as I said - Yellow (RLM04) for 3rd Staffel was not in use. They used Braun with black outline.

I made a few changes for the F4´s of the 7 Staffel of Jagdgeschwader 5 and add the 8 Staffel aswell for the F4´s.

-add back the red stencils

-clean up the colours

-a winterskin for the 7JG5

-and a few things i dont remember anymore

Thank Kpg. Unfortunately Regia Aeronautica and ANR hadn't snow camouflages. Probably my next work will be a G-2

This has to be mine, thank you!

Did you manage the alpha channel or something else in order to obtain a matte finish?

It's not that shiny, which  I like very much.

Posted

Thanks for the kudos! As soon as I finish all the WW squad skins, I'll start working on some historic pieces.

Yes, the alpha channel was seriously modified; cranked (waaaaaaayyyy) down the brightness and adjusted the contrast to prevent unintended invisible areas (pure black).

Okay will do! Is it a basic RLM74/75/76 scheme? Or is this a Summer skin with Sandgelbe in it?

OMG THANK YOU! I have been looking for this! I have great ones for the Ju-87D and Ju-88A and Bf-109E with full measurements and angles too.

Hey can you all refer to my post #257? I am a bit confused now with the theater band. This color photo shows it ahead on the Balkenkreuz. On a black and photo, it shows it as I have it on my skin? Did he have two mounts with weiß '2'?

Hi Spektre,

many answers to your questions in Christer Bergström's "Ace Profiles number 2"

51oVloTS-HL._SX351_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

According to this book, in the first stages of "Barbarossa", Ostermann flown a Bf 109 F-2 (W.Nr. 5489) "White 2 + ~" with a yellow tactical band initially painted in front of the fuselage Balkenkreuz (June 1941) and later repainted under it (8 September 1941).

The color photograph you posted above shows probably another F-2, "White 5 + ~".

I need help please. I'm working on this skin, 5/ JG52. I have a hunch that the profile is incorrect though. I think the artist misinterpreted a B&W photograph and the cowling should be yellow. I couldn't find any photos of 5/JG52 to prove it, though.

109F_JG52_zpsee3d0172.jpg

Another mystery is Barkhorn's F-2's nose (yellow 7). Was it yellow overpainted with green, or not yellow at all? The photo seems to prove the latter, although it's too small. Anyone has a bigger version?

Wow, a real, dirty and believable yellow at last. I have seen many skins in my life, and the yellow parts looked always too clean, pastel and warm.

I like this one very much. Mine, as soon as possible! Thank you!

Thanks mate, you hit a soft spot there, I'm very sensitive about my yellows  A lot of research and fine tuning went into this one.
