Jade_Monkey Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Making a tacky flames skin for Pe2. Homage to the "Major Boobage" episode of South Park. Edited August 12, 2016 by Jade_Monkey 3
616Sqn_Johnny-Red Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Major Boobage is truly one of the best Southpark episodes ever - and a fine tribute to the 1981 film Heavy Metal If you want to see the scene that inspired Randy's "cheesing trip" check out this link: Don Felder "Takin' A Ride" In yet another convoluted twist, I think that this scene was heavily influenced by the 1970 film, Catch-22, which is a masterpiece of dark humour and stunning immagery. I suspect that one of the B-25's featured in Catch-22 may have been used as a camera plane for the 1969 film, The Battle of Britain... Randy Marsh; 3 degrees of separation from the RAF's finest hour, via the medium of cat's urine. Now I'm starting to worry about where this post is going Maybe it's time to see the doc and tell him I can't fly any more... JR (DFC and Bar) LMF

I guess it wasn't that far fetched after all.

=38=Tatarenko Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Thanks,No, I have done several I-16's and IL-2's as well.
=38=Tatarenko Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I doubt it. For example my "Soviet Tatarstan" I-16 skin I liked because I went to study in Tatarstan in 1989. So I did the lettering myself. So not historical but not impossible or anti-history either. For me they have to look realistic even if not modelled on an actual a/c.

Bullets Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 4k (4096x4096) Pe-2 Series 87, mid 1943 three tone camouflage. Made using my new Pe-2 Series 87 template. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qaemm3uvre9l8yt/Pe2s87_4096.zip?dl=0 First off i wanna say I love the skin however I have spotted two "errors" with the skin, The first is that part of the texture in front of the exhaust "guards" is missing and you can see right through the engine to the ground the other side.... second is that the red plate with text on is still in default texture resolution and is unreadable. Cheers

ivanovax Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Do you have any other images, or a profile of this aircraft? I can do a 4k skin but not much to go on with one photo. Sorry, but I haven't another images and any info about this plane, only this photo. This photo was posted on one russian historical forum, on this new year, as present for community.

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Redoing White 8 in 4K. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/13718-pe-2-series-87-skins/?p=331150
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) The 4k version of White 8. Corrected many issues with the 2k version. The "black" camo's opacity was turned down to approximate one coat or a thinned coat thus allowing the underlying green to bleed through. Thanks again to ICDP for his work on the template. UPDATED Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pqrtq7xjsbjrn3n/Pe2s87_White8_4k.dds?dl=0 Cheers! Edited February 8, 2017 by 12.OIAE_Stick-95 1 4
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 ** bump ** Updated download as the skin was missing star on right side of fuselage. Oops...
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) OK, sorry, couple more things. Improved the feathering of the arrowhead. Also the left spinner had no weathering. Edited February 8, 2017 by 12.OIAE_Stick-95
Retnek Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Thx, usually I don't like the green-in-green froggy camouflage, but this white arrow gives her something! 1
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Because you can't have too many... Here's a dark camo version of White 8. Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4eey3cjpeicnqjs/Pe2s87_White%208_dark.dds?dl=0
ivanovax Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I could make a best guess on the camo and markings for you. I will be glad, if you do it. I only think, that color of nose, spinners and parts of tail is yellow or blue. More probable, that blue.
Trooper117 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 You keep putting various skins up for different planes (which are good by the way) but you don't always put up download links... why? If someone shows us their skins surely you want people to download them?
