IL-2 AM 38 skins

Hi all,

Its being some time since I post a new IL2 skin but I had some time left lastly so here we go:

 

IL2M42 from 606th ShAP.(The description was In sovietwarplanes.com but looks like the site is down or no longer available).

The rudder had the remains of a white oblique line, so this aircraft mostly pertained to 214th ShAD or cannibalized parts of an aircraft from that air division. There is a strange sand color applied to the right wing, maybe due to a repair. Apart from that, it has a lovely dotted camo scheme and I took the liberty to camouflage the 37mm nacelles to make them more aggressive. Hope you like it.

This scheme is based on a profile posted there by Massimo Tessitori. All the credits to him.

Peterla, beautiful skin as always! Yes, unfortunately the sovietwarplanes site is down now, although the archived forum can still be accessed at http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/board/index.php. Regarding the Mongolian Il-2 - nice job sjelljr! These were arrows (swept-winged two-seaters) that the Soviets gave to the Mongolians after the war against Japan in August of 1945. Evidently, the Soviets thought it would be easier to just leave them in the East than to take them back to Europe, where the Il-2 was being replaced by the Il-10 anyway. The Mongolian Il-2s may have served until as late as 1954, making the Mongolians amongst the last users of the Il-2.

How are some of you getting the rear gunner field mod on some of these m42 single seat il-2's? In game I see no option for that and I own all 3 planes (all 3 theaters for the game)

1CGS designed it and made the original version in 2K. I redid the entire plane (including artwork) in 4K, which is the version you show here.

I always loved the sinister looking black IL 2 on the front of the "old game's" user manual.  Looked around here and for the life of me I don't see a skin like it.  Anyone know if anyone made one?

Will a non rear gunner IL skin work on a plane equipped with the gunner?  Vice Versa?  Geez hope that doesn't sound dumb! ?

Hey Guys. I am a fairly new Pilot, and even more so new skinner. I have worked up 4 Skins (Bicolor and Winter) for The 1942 Il-2 + the 1943 Il-2. I haven't done the 1941 Il-2 yet. I hope I do the Post correctly and everything in order. I would call these Skins generic, as they are not fictional, nor historically detailed like some are. 

Black nose, star markings, 99 9 number on rudder to make it personalized.I got inspired by a historical Il-2 that had numbers on the front part of the rudder, and the back one too. I only created the Skin for me, but I thought why not share it with others.

 

Big shoutouts to  Jason_Williams and BlackHellHound1 for providing the templates to work on. I appreciate it.
