AdlerAngriff Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Hey Guys. Here's my suggestion. I know that developing the game takes a lot a LOT of effort. BUT PLEASE do your best to fix the friendly AI bugs. I am now playing ROF. And for example, when I was a wingman and got into a dogfight one on one. My flight leader who noticed the fight occuring, as well as rthe second wingman just bailed on me. I couldn't find them afterwards. Shouldn't they have like waited for me or something?? Maybe that's not a problem A bigger problem for me are the landing procedures. The AI follows this stupid "set in stone" pattern no matter what. This happened in il2 as well. On approach planes would crash into one another. Just yesterday my wingman got wounded because of a twitch before landing. Can't the AI be "more human" and not make such obvious stupid "blind" mistakes. Fokker E IIIs often crashed into woods because they didn't cut the engine in time.
Guest deleted@1562 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 This is very important for me, too. Please take your time to implement a believable AI. A good example for this would be Battle of Britain V2. Please take a look at this post, where Buddey is quoted on his implemetation: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpost.php?p=374502&postcount=40
AdlerAngriff Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 Great post tintifaxl. Another thing that poped up in my mind is the "balance of power" I read in Saburo Sakai's book Samurai that the pilots were always encouraged not to spend all of their ammo and to leave some for the flight home. However in Il2:Forgotten Battles all of the planes spawned right at the begining. There were no surprises. So I guess I would kinda like to be outnubered sometimes or surprised on the way back and realistic things like that. But I guess that this is a matter for the dynamic campaign now
