Cant type in username nor password in the game screen

I havent played the game in a month or so.

I did 3 updates in a row. I get to the game start screen but cant click on the area where Im asked to type my password or username.

My mouse works in the menu of the game but I cant click on anything. The only way to quit is by ALT TAB.

I uninstalled the game and then installed again and updated to the latest patch but im still not allowed to type in a password or username.

 

One can say that neither the mouse button or the keyboard works in there, but I can move the mousepointer..

What is the solution to this?

Anyone?

That's a strange one - have you tried switching the 'fullscreen' option in the startup dialog 'settings' menu? That's about the only suggestion I can make, though maybe someone else will come up with another solution.

 

Edit: Thinking about it, if you haven't played for a month or so, you may need to reinstall from scratch - there was an update a few weeks ago that needed a full reinstall.

Yes I uninstalled and reinstalled (as mentioned in the first post) but still have the same problem. I cant click on ANYTHING in the game menu. Not even the exit cross in the upper right corner.

 

I thought maybe it was due to the name change i read something about some patches ago.?

 

In either case I can move the mouse pointer but not click on anything. The items do highlight when the mouse pointer hovers above them but nothing happens when I click. Never seen this before :/

 

I will try the fullscreen thing...

Try with no HOTAS plugged in.

Tried it all. It really seems like the mouse button stops working once im in the game menu. Hence, I cant click on the section where im  supposed to type in the username and password.

Problem solved. I had to restart the computer and change the usb port my mouse was connected to... Weird problem...
