AirDnD Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I've noticed that when I asighn a key command w/ a modifier the game seems to register the key presses seperatly. For example, left_shift + E registers as both "bail out" and "start/ stop engine". Do I need to program every 'modifer/ key' combination as a macro?
Scott_Steiner Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 It never used to be that way, I think the saitek drives have just gone that far downhill since madcatz bought them out.
No_85_Gramps Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I have not programmed my HOTAS but I seem to remember reading somewhere on the forum that when you enter the keystrokes you have to hold down the "l-shift" then press and release the "E", and then release the "l-shift". I noticed when using the keyboard to control the flaps that if you release the modifier key first before "F" then BOS reads the "F" as a new keypress. Just a thought.

Mad Cat software allows for "advanced commands" that register key presses and releases.
vonPilsner Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Is same with old version of profiling software. I program as 'advanced command' for everything that is more than 1 key (and quantize to 0.050).
Snacko Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 If you are using the latest version of the software, you should be able to just create a normal keypress as Shift-e, both pressed together. I have no problems doing this with DCS. (I'm not flying Bos until I get a manual) But there used to be many bugs in the the first drivers and software.
Sokol1 Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 If that soft allow, try add delay between the keypress Or use third part keymapper, like Joytokey or Xpadder, they are "bullet proof".

Yes it does work fine with DCS, with BoS this will also press '(non-shift) E' which is why the suggestion to use the advanced command option. So most I have programmed like this: And if it needs to repeat while held: Edited December 26, 2014 by vonPilsner
