Custom realism options not working?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to fly a quick mission using custom realism options.

To me it looks like at least some of these options like unlimited ammo have no effect when applied?

I remember there was a similar report a few weeks ago, but I would like to know whether this is a confirmed bug or whatever.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I just tried a quick mission with unlimited ammo and it works OK.

Are you reloading your guns when you run out of ammo? It might be "R" but not sure as I have it re-mapped, but it is in the options/controls/weapons/reload

Thanks, Mick!

That does it for the ammo! I just observed it during a mission, when my guns seemed to reload magically. I did not expect it to work that way...

However, are you sure about the other options working correctly?

I just bought the game, and to me the flight model seems very hard-core even with all 'simplistic' options checked. I played CloD a little bit, and Pacific Fighters more, and there the effect of simplifying the flight model for a bit of casual fun seemed to be much more obvious.

Hi deroteah,

I'm pretty sure all the other options work as planned, I don't think they change the flight model as such but just make it a little easier till you get the hang of flying in the game.

Things like padlock must have allow spectators ticked for you to snap to another plane.

I have only tried out a few settings so I don't know about simplified controls, simplified physics or aiming assist but the others like the engine management ones in green work fine.

To begin with let the AI take care of your engine management and have unlimited ammo and invulnerability ticked so at least if you make a mistake it won't be fatal, just till you get used to the flight model, it will come to you, stick with it.

Plenty of practice with the different settings in the QMB "quick mission builder" will let you get a feel for what all the settings do.

Any more questions don't be afraid to ask, there are a lot of knowledgeable folks around these parts  who will gladly help you out.

Thanks, Mick!

I'm already (slowly ;)) getting more familiar with flying these birds.
