Feathered_IV Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 (edited) Love the default 190 repaint. It'd be very much worth submitting it for inclusion in the next update. Here's two from me. My first effort, a red-wing LaGG. And a wip for the green hearts. Edited January 8, 2015 by Bearcat Screens with swasticas must use spoiler tag 8

Feathered_IV Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Just in case anyone missed it before, Abobe released an older version of photoshop CS2 for free. It's no longer supported with updates and whatnot, but it runs the DDS plugin beautifully and does whatever you ask of it. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3689-adobe-photoshop-cs2.html 4

Nice skin thanks, got it now! To add an image click 'More reply options', bottom right of the 'Reply' window. From there, you can use the 'Image' icon along the top, to link to an online image's url; or you can use 'Attach files', at the bottom, to upload an image from your hard drive. vonPilsner Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 (edited) My original Grey camo skin had a problem with one of the spinners, here is the fixed version. Pe2s87_Grey_Camo-Red_Spinner-BvP.zip Edited December 25, 2014 by vonPilsner

79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Now, all we need is IL2skins.com version II, and we're all set!
33lima Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 One last Yak, this is the one I made for myself to fly. Love that one!
Yakdriver Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Now, all we need is IL2skins.com version II, and we're all set! Quoted for de truth. that was the first Website that got my head spinning. 1
BzKBravoZulu Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 My first attempt. Had a lot of fun doing it. I can see how it can become an engrossing hobby. Yak1s69_RedBlkRed - Copy.zip
Yakdriver Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 that last shot looks like she is made of silk... nice Job!
FlatSpinMan Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Jaws - I LOVE that default 190 scheme - nabbed it for my, i suspect about to be very large, skin collection. This thread shows just how much the players can bring to the party. I'm amazed at the speed, too. Is it much easier than in the old IL2? FIV - beautiful. Post more! Make more! Upload 'em! Parisek - that is a beauty. Question, the reflection on the tailplane - is it painted on or actually a reflection?
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 (edited) Attention if you're skinning for the Fw190. The provided template is missing key technical parts and weathering. I've taken an original ingame skin and done my best to extract the missing parts into one layer. Mind you have to put this layer on top of all camouflage layers, otherwise parts of it will be obscured. Hope this is going to help some skinners out there. Pierre64 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I use Paint Shop Pro X7 and all these weathering layers are available in my Fw190 A3 layered .psd template.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I use Paint Shop Pro X7 and all these weathering layers are available in my Fw190 A3 layered .psd template. Some weathering layers are included but by far not all. Basicly all the black covered parts on the right picture (and much more stuff) is completely missing. If you have a template with thoses layers included pls PM me if you don't mind so I can check it out (downloaded the official template twice now).
Jason_Williams Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 No all necessary layers are included in the 190 template to match what is posted above. Jason
Feathered_IV Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 FIV - beautiful. Post more! Make more! Upload 'em! I'm on it I'll upload the skins when I get a moment. Here's a few screens of another one, just for fun. Somebody was bound to do a Hans Von Hammer sooner or later... It may as well be me 2
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Haven't done anything artsy since............well, a very long time ago. Mostly pen and ink stuff. It may be time to take on some color projects. Santa brought me a couple of digital painting books for Christmas. Time to open some Luftwaffe in Color type books.
Bearcat Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 One last Yak, this is the one I made for myself to fly. That is nice!! Very nice..
Bullets Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Vonpilsner, I LOVE the weathering you have done on that paintjob...
BlitzPig_EL Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Did the PVO ever use Yak 1s? Nice skin none the less.

Leaf Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Is there any way to increase/decrease reflectivity of aircraft skins?
Bearcat Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Not sure yet but I am sure someone will figure it out.. I am looking forward to that polished metal layer.. I know initially I was reading the instructionbs from an ROF tutorial and it said to turn off the alpah layer.. but that is a mistake .. when you save as a DDS in PS the alpha layer has to stay checked.. otherwise the skins will lack shine.

Yeah, I just realised that all the skins I made lack that metal shine..despite turning the alpha channel on. Edited December 25, 2014 by 19te.Leaf
Jaws2002 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 if it's like ROF, the shade of gray in the alpha layer tells the game what becomes transparent, shiny or mate:
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Yes it's done via the alpha channel. Basilcy you need to apply it before saving your skin so it's roughtly 50% transparent. I haven't figured out which tone of gray creates best shine yet and I'd be glad if sby could tell me
