SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 As per above. It really starts to annoy me that I don't here anything when flak or enemy aircraft hits me
SYN_Jedders Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) The fact that some people hear them means they are meant to be heard by all. The reason why not all are hearing them can be down to either a hardware issue on the clients system or a sound issue within the title. Opinions are all we have at this point, solutions are few. SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Ah, thanks for the info. I'll just wait a while then Some sounds should probably not be heard IRL but since we can't feel the impacts we need anotherway to get SA on hits and sound is the only way.
wellenbrecher Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Try a stereo setup. For science if nothing else. In one of the previous threads about this it seemed that everyone who posted that did not have the sounds was running some sort of surround sound.
SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) Tried mono, stereo, quad, 5.1 and 7.1 to no avail I haven't tried the onboard sound with stereo speakers though becauseI need the headset not to disturb anyone so it could be the fact that itis USB headset that mess things up Edited December 22, 2014 by 332_Goblin
Bearcat Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Yes depending on the headset Windows may be using your headset as the sound source instead of your sound card. Look in control panel and see what it is set to. It may automatically switch it when you use the phones.
-332FG-Zephyr096 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've been having the same issue. There have been times when there is no sound indicator or damage notification, yet I get shot down..... It's happened in multiplayer where I never heard a hit and never got a hit notification and suddenly I am missing a wing. It's not an aircraft stress thing, because it says "____ shot you down" or whatever. Had it both with headphones and stereo speakers.
JG4_Nemesis Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 All my friends and me have the same problem - you take a full salvo of hits and all you notice is "engine 1 damaged" being displayed, nothing heard at all....if you read books of pilots that got hit, there were loud sounds when they got hit by bulltes. All should hear them, it's really annoying to thear nothing.
SharpeXB Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I'm using a USB speaker system, I think that bypasses my sound card. It is set on 5.1 audio. I hear the hit sounds.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I've heared about different rumours by now like you need to set ingame osund to 100% or using stereo for your system but still neither works fo me. AT least in MP, which I fly only, it sounds are rare. If I manage to hear a random hit sound, mostly from Flak, it is very quiet when running the engine at cruising power. It's already clear the sound mechanics are bugged due to the "sound bubbles" not sticking to the collision point, means oyur plane, but solemly floating midair. This means the faster you go, the less you're going to hear getting hit by sth.
III/JG2Gustav05 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I found that this issue also depends on what hardware you use. I cannot here the hit sound before with my Creative Audigy sound card. Everything is ok now after I move to onboard sound card. but I miss the engine sound effect on Creative Audigy.

Everything is ok now after I move to onboard sound card. but I miss the engine sound effect on Creative Audigy. I really don't think it has anything to do with what hardware you have.I have never changed my sound hardware or messed around with it and sometimes the hit sounds are there and sometimes they are not. The fact you can hear gunners firing at you from 400 yards away but can't hear the bullets impacting your plane tells me something is way off with the sound engine not users hardware. Mick.
