SharpeXB Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 I've tried editing the terrain.cfg file this way: LodCount=5 texlod=4096,8texlod=2048,8texlod=2048,8texlod=2048,8texlod=2048,8 I don't notice much difference in the game and the two times I have tried it BoS has crashed anyone else? My last crash was on hitting Esc to finish a Campaign mission in the Stuka
VBF-12_Snake9 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 I have mine that way. Hadn't had a crash in long time.
SharpeXB Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 I've been experiencing game crashes 100% of the time after messing with this file, even after restoring the original one
Urra Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) Check if you have terrain.ini or terrain.cfg. I believe it should be ini. Please check the other thread you replied to for my longer response there on this topic. If you can load a mission in the Quick mission builder and fly around for a minute or two then it shouldn't be the fault of the file. There is something else going on...try clicking full screen vs windowed for a quick check. Edited December 21, 2014 by roaming_gnome
SharpeXB Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) Yes the name should be .ini I suppse. I did just copy and paste the original file back. All I know is I wasn't crashing before and now I am. Edited December 21, 2014 by SharpeXB
Stallion Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I don't know where the file is, but someone can help me out I'm sure... It sounds like the best way to solve your issue is backing up your inputs (under a folder "data" or "input" or something like that) - copy/paste the whole folder to a safe directory, then reinstall the game. Kind of drastic, but the game may reinstall faster than you can solve your issue through conventional means.
SharpeXB Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 I might just do a reinstall when the update comes today. I have a fast connection so installing is not an ordeal
SharpeXB Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 Testing this again. I think it definitely causes the game to crash
