FlatSpinMan Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 That's an interesting and highly encouraging shot Loft posted. Ideal for early Stalingrad if it's a 202, and more importantly 100% GUARANTEED PROOF that we're Mediterranean-bound! Or not. Either way, while there's dev 3d shots, there's hope. I'm in. Where do I sign?
Lusekofte Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Shut up and take my money , that came from nowhere I thought first it was a MIG 3
Mags Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) I think it is a Macchi C 205 Veltro...and take my money, please! With a closer look...I think it is a 202 now! Edited December 19, 2014 by Mags
150GCT_Veltro Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) FANTASTICO It's a Macchi 202 "Folgore" (Lighting) Edited December 19, 2014 by 150GCT_Veltro
FlatSpinMan Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Hang on! Its not, is it?! I'd better check. Italian planes are not my strong point. Ah, Veltro is here. I'll just take his word for it. And what a great word it is " FANTASTICO!!"
LLv24_Zami Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) I think it is a Macchi C 205 Veltro...and take my money, please! I think you are right! Quite a surprise Edit: Or not, at a quick glance it could be C 202. Well either way, nice one! Edited December 19, 2014 by Zami
150GCT_Veltro Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) And yes, MED is coming with the best physic ever seen in a flight sim! I think you are right! Quite a surprise It's a Macchi 202 guys, 202. Edited December 19, 2014 by 150GCT_Veltro 2
PB0_Foxy Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Mc202 flew on eastern front especially over Stalingrad area
Matt Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Yes, i think 12 of them flew over the eastern front and probably non of those with dust filters. So it looks like they are really heading for a north africa / mediterranean theatre, which would be good and would probably indicate, that BoS has been a success. They could make good use of their water engine there.
Mags Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) Yes, it is a nice surprise! I saw it was a 202 two minutes later after I posted the first time. You are fast, guys! Thank for posting that picture, Loft! I have a big smile om my face right now. Edited December 19, 2014 by Mags
Lusekofte Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 This is a 295 C Veltore , so my guess is a 202, witch suits in a historical perspective. Now a Hurricane , JU 88 and a trimotor italian bomber, and you are ready for medertaraniln theatre
PB0_Foxy Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Yes, i think 12 of them flew over the eastern front and probably non of those with dust filters. For the dust filter I'm not sure they was removed from eastern front macchi It is hard to find pictures of those planes on the eastern front so I can't confirm M.C. 202AS Included the addition of dust filters meant for use in North Africa. The lack of detrimental effect meant that all Folgore's soon were AS standard. M.C. 202CB Included the (rarely used) addition of underwing hardpoints for small bombs and drop tanks.
Dakpilot Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Macchi 200/202, P-40, P-39 all used in Russian and Med theatre Cheers Dakpilot
ST_ami7b5 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Macchi 202 Folgore is one of my fav. planes
Finkeren Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Not on my top list of planes to add to BoS, but still I can see the reasoning behind it: Broaden the appeal as much as posible by introducing a whole new air power into the fray. Not to say that I've got anything against it either. Any new addition to BoS is most welcome and I'll be first in line to purchase.
Zargos Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Any new plane for BOS is very welcome ... even Italian planes which are not my favorites. I would also suggest a Mig-3 (this one I love !). 1

150GCT_Veltro Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) P-40 guys, we are talking about "the others", not Russians or Germans. However, for me I-16 is almost ready, my two cents. Macchi 202 vs Lagg-3, Yak-1, P-40, Hurricane as it was. With Spitfire Mk.Vc was a nightmare, but still possibile. So...P-40. Edited December 19, 2014 by 150GCT_Veltro
CIA_Yankee_ Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Huh, where was this posted anyway? Can we get a link? That said, wooo, that's very good news. It's great to know they're working on additional fighters.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Sure it's a Mc 202, it's a direct response to this poll: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/729-poll-what-non-german-fighter-would-you-see-il-2-bos/ Interestingly they've said on russian forums the IAR got the higher score so they had to consider both of them equally. Well I'm happy to see the Mc 202 comign as I preferr it but hopefully we'll also see the IAR 80/81 one day (for the sake of pleasing all it's favourers and of course diversity). P-40 will probably the next, could be a nice christmas present
FlatSpinMan Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Jaws - it's from a grab by Loft today. Please see above. 2

Even now it's 751 vs 709 votes for the IAR. If they model the Machi, that poll was just pretending to care, just like other official polls posted here. 1
senseispcc Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Maybe the La-5F with buble canopy is a nice and not to complex addition before a La-5fn or a German Ju-88a or Fw-189 or the Macchi C200 Saetta 51 of this type did fight in Russia in the 22gruppo until replaced by the 21 gruppo equiped with Macchi C202 Folgore.
IIN8II Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 but my MiG 3 noooooo! lol I like the MC 202, I have read that some pilots thought it was a better fighter than the 109. That's an interesting and highly encouraging shot Loft posted. Ideal for early Stalingrad if it's a 202, and more importantly 100% GUARANTEED PROOF that we're Mediterranean-bound!Or not. Either way, while there's dev 3d shots, there's hope.I'm in. Where do I sign? Yeah My money was on Med or North Africa just based on the available skins for German aircraft.
ShamrockOneFive Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Cool! I'm all for new aircraft and new theatres. I don't think anyone should jump to conclusions about the North Africa or Med campaign at this point - the MC.200 and MC.202 both saw action leading up to and during the Stalingrad battle. It was limited but it's nice to see it as a possibility there. So it's not definitive proof of anything except a new plane being added...which in and of itself is a great thing.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 There's so many interesting planes they could be adding, it's great to see there are plans to do so. But, let's get a nice list going. Here's mine (completely incomplete ): Allies: - Airacobra. - Yak-7 (maybe 9?). - Mig-3? Axis: - Macchi 202, obviously. - Ju 88 (!!!) Let's add to the list.
FlatSpinMan Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Can I just say that I was kidding about the 100% Med thing? I' sure most realised that, but just oin case people didn't, it should be made clear. 1. I have no idea where they intend to base the next installment. 2. They showed the model of an Italian fighter. Just in case I set up false expectations. (Edited the random last point out.)
150GCT_Veltro Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Sure, more Russians are needed. We can accept to have Bf-110 for German, and at least two new fighters for Russian, P-39, Mig-3 a would say, even if Yak-7 would be great as well. Ju-88 is a must but it requires a lot of work, Bf-110 in needed ASAP.

They showed the model of an Italian fighter. 3. They had a bad time of it in North Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East in recent(historyish) has been denied for so long. This is what we know. I should have looked more closely at who posted it But yeah... I'd love a North Africa follow up campaign sometime. Spitfires, Kittyhawks, tank busting Hurricanes up against the usual Luftwaffe complement, Hs129, and some Italian aircraft and I'd love it! Sure, more Russians are needed. Ju-88 is a must but it requires a lot of work, Bf-110 in needed ASAP. The MiG-3 wasn't really much on the front by Stalingrad but I'd love to see it sometime. That said a Yak-7B would be an ideal candidate as another common fighter found on the Stalingrad front. Both Yak-1B and Yak-9 showed up during the battle as well in small but growing numbers - they may decide to hold those back for a Kuban or Kursk scenario. Agreed on the Ju88 and Bf110!
Rjel Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 By far one of the prettiest fighter planes ever. I'm in.
Zargos Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) Let's add to the list. If you open the list, it will never end. There are so many planes to enjoy ! Edited December 19, 2014 by UF_Zargos
