Facetracknoir

so ive been using facetracknoir, for all of my SIM needs for a while now, havnt had any issues with it i couldnt solve by either trial and error or googleing it. I managed to get it to work with BOS recently but cant for the life of me figure out how i did it.

 

anyways, I know editing the supported games list is one option of getting FTNOIR to work but when i check the file BOS is not listed, i did try to add it in but it didnt solve the issue (still dont know what did) so I downloaded the V170 patch off the website and vuala it works (i had v170 before i downloaded it)

 

the reason Im going through it again is cause im trying to help a friend get his working i had him do the same steps but i cant figure it out over TS chat any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

Hi Symtex, this one had me stumped too because it was working up until the last patch....  but one of the cleverer blokes on here figured it out.

Download "Opentrack" if you don't have it.

Launch Opentrack (don't worry about setting it up, just launch it and click start)

Launch BoS

Alt+Tab out of Bos and close Opentrack

Launch FacetrackNoIR and set it up.

Click back into BoS and you will find that it is working.

Something to do with the protocol not loading so you have to force it with Opentrack and then it stays working when you switch to Facetrack.....

Hope that makes sense and helps...  It works on mine.

the open track work around didnt work unfortunatley. i sent my buddy my edited version of the .csv file and had him place it into the settings folder of facetracknoir, he says FTNOIR will track his face through the loading screen but as soon as he's in the plane it cuts out and gives an error message saying that FTNOIR cant load the .csv file.

 

should i get him to just edit the .csv file himself or can anyone say with real certainty that it wont work.

I've also been racking my brain trying to remember the steps i took to get FTNOIR working so ill post it here

 

***DISCLAIMER*** I'am not a programmer, i research and do trial by error to learn new things, if you follow the steps and somehow mess up your pc i cannot be held accountable***

 

1.) make sure factracknoir is working on other games

2.) I recommend (if you dont already) getting natural point dll 5.2.2 and adding it to FTNOIR follow steps posted in this link - http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/10031-wiki-using-trackir-or-freetrack-with-warthunder/

3.)find the settings folder in FTNOIR and open the .CSV file labelled FaceTrackNoIR Supported Games add in text line - 484;IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad;FreeTrack20;V170;;;1008;03F04D5368D1FD2DF2AE00

 

4) now this is just what i did i have no idea if this made a difference to the program at all. but i downloaded and installed FTNOIR v170 patch over the V170 that i already had yes i know it sounds redundant but i tried it anyways.

5) Finally, Restart your pc.

 

 

These are the steps that i took to get FTNOIR to work on my pc, i dont know why this works but it seemed to for me hopefully this helps others figure it out too.
