Hi all,

does anyone know what is the formula used by  Il2 BoS to represent stick movement? Afaik it's not linear so not 1:1 as represented by this graph:

Does anyone know what the actual graph looks like?

many thanks!

You can find it out by klicking on the respective rightmost button in the keybind menu. And the default is indeed 1:1

With axis sensitivity set to 0% it is linear (like your graph) the higher you set sensitivity the more logarithmic it gets...

Hi Guys, no that's not what I meant. I know the graph in game starts at 0. The problem is that even at "0" the joystick movements didn't seem to respond in a linear fashion when observing A/C movement. There is an article (from the FM modeller) that was published on ROF forums about this issue which was brought to my attention on another forum. I have to read through it yet, but I think it will answer my questions.

Bottom line is this game needs much more finer curve tweaking from the end-user than what is made available with the BOS UI. And I found that solution in xedoc joycurves. What I was after was a graph that would represent joystick displacement (in %) on one side and stick movement (in cm) on the other - in default state. And I know that one isn't linear.  Anyways I'll have to read through that first.

thanks all for answers

Somewhere in the dark recesses of this forum is a long thread related to the very subject you are interested in, which also included the links and convo about the RoF thread, was from about a year ago so an in depth search should turn it up.

Your experiences with xedoc joycurves  will , I am sure be of use to many, out of interest which Joystick do you use currently

Hi Dakpilot,

I might post the tutorial here, for now if people are interested there is a tutorial here: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6497ves

It's not without it's headaches but once you set it it's done and it works like a charm.

As for the joystick I used to have the x52pro but switched to MSFFB2 that I got of ebay. Made a world of difference. That joystick is superior to anything else I tried. I only kept the centering force on though, no FF throughout other phases of flight.
