GunnyHighway Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Of all 3,288 German and Austrian pilots that scored victories in WWII, 116 of them started to score in The Spanish Civil war, and encountered Russian planes such as Polikarpov I-15, I-16, R-5 and ANT-40 a.k.a. Tupolev SB.
Leaf Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 You're either looking for trouble or a lock, possibly both. Maybe post it in a different section (Free Topic or Aviation perhaps?)

von_Greiff Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Need help! Is their anything you trying to say, Gunny?? I mean a kill is a kill. It's like a goal is a goal, don't see a problem!
vonLazan Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I don't get it. He's trying to discredit Luftwaffe aces by implying that a handful (some of which scored into the hundreds) earned their victories over a span of almost a decade, fighting against inferior aircraft. Which even if they did, is a testament to their skill, since killing is only a part of the equation, survivng that long is the other. So he essentially defeats his own implication by himself. 5
Finkeren Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) I don't get this need to 'discredit' one side or the other. Overclaiming aside (and overclaiming was an issue in all airforces) there is simply no argueing, that the pilots of the Luftwaffe fighter force achieved amazing individual results, but they did so fighting for an air force that failed to achieve practically all of its strategic goals. SYN_Ricky Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 The greatest of them all scored his first kill in November 1942, and the 351 others at a time when the VVS was getting better and better... 1
Tektolnes Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 So 3.5% scored victories before WW2 started.. wow that's a impressive statistic. Almost as impressive as the VVS' lamentable performance throughout WW2.
I/JG27_Rollo Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 over a span of almost a decade, fighting against inferior aircraft It's certainly how I get my kills. 1

Well, he still has to explain the other 3288 pilots who didn't fly in the civil war, including most of their top aces. Juicy bait. Edited December 17, 2014 by Silky
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 It is obvious trolling as was the last post he put up - which became both nationalistic and revisionist in nature. This has been noted as his MO in other forums as well. Mod's lock this please and give him a PM or vacation before it gets out of hand.
SOLIDKREATE Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 What is this even about. This seems more like a reply than an actual topic. This needs to be locked and hidden.
