indiaciki Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) When I'm not flying BOS (or other Combat sim like ROF, DCS, CLOD) I play...? Edited December 10, 2014 by indiaciki
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 ArmA 3 if not a single player game like Assassins Creed or such. Chief
Zettman Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 S! Mostly ArmA 3 for me. Would love to find a good WW2 Tanksimulator or more serious WW2 FPS (something like Forgotten Hope 2 with the realism of Project Reality). Zettman
Lusekofte Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 nothing......... I do not anymore have the need for escape 1
SOLIDKREATE Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 ArmA 3 for me. I think the perfect game would an FPS like ArmA with a flight model like BoS. Could you imagine such a masterpiece?
indiaciki Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) I'll have to try ArmA. Played it once. looked good. My son told me it's more like a sim than a fps. I loved the first Ghost Recon, though I don't play games at all except GTA and Red Dead Redemtion on my son's x-box. No missions. More kind of some sick psychotherapy. 39bn_pavig Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 +1 for Arma 3. Evidently the helo fm has had an overhaul. Vortex ring state just went in last build. Only thing I don't like about vanilla arma is the aimbot AI. I play Arma once a week with a clan, but non FPS games the rest of the time.

I agree.. and that's the one of the reason why I don't play Arma campaign.
Nil Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Subsims and navalsims (SHIII with mods and Dangerous Waters with RA mod) sometimes bike racing 'sims' and medival combat 'sims'
CorsairHundo Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Arma3. Great strategic fps, especially compared to bf3/4. There's some mods that ate great, the healing mod makes it as real as possible.
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'm a big fan of the 3D Fallout games. Still chugging away at various playthroughs of New Vegas... that's another game I love to hate.

Play driving games on pc and ps3 COD on ps3(although after Ghosts I probably wont buy any more in this series) Everybody's Golf on ps3.Resident evil series also. My choice in games is wide. indiaciki Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) Gta V on PC - first person...can't wait. Downloading ARMA3 - is it worth playing??? I just can't combine flying and fighting now. It's dull and maybe I'm too old or totally screwd up by GA... I get Junkers point who refused to build military aircraft. CorsairHundo Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I played bf3 but when arma3 came out and tried it, I loved it. I play with a group of 4 and the strategy is great, slower pace then the ADHD bf3/4. The community has some great mods also
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Arma 3 is nice but demanding in ressources and it's introduction. Personally Arma 3 has soem very nice sim feautures setting it far apart from BF-series, CoD and such, but not to everyones taste. A friend of mine cynicly called it "walking simulator" which is true for the part you're not inside a transport vehicle. For every bullet you shoot add 10 min of walking threw nomansland. Once you have set up the complex controlls you might want to try the MP part. SP has some good intoduction to offer but I found the campaign a bit too frsutrating. As it's a sandbox game you'll find all kinds of Servers with different mods...from civil city life servers to postappocalyptic Zomby-Servers. It's not adviseable to play alone though as you need teamwork more than anything else in Arma - equally for traveling from A to B or tactical combat operation. Give it a try and judge it on your own. Arma is one of those games you either totally hate or love. And yes it's flight physics are bad compared to flight sims so flying in Arma isn't as fun.
rolikiraly Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 S! Mostly ArmA 3 for me. Would love to find a good WW2 Tanksimulator or more serious WW2 FPS (something like Forgotten Hope 2 with the realism of Project Reality). Zettman I don't know much about FH2 or Project Reality, but you might want to check Red Orchestra 2 (or Rising Storm, which is a Pacific Theater expansion of RO2). You probably already did, it's not that hidden or something but anyways i thought i'd rather mention it to be sure. It doesn't have too big maps and focuses more on infantry vs infantry combat rather than tanks, Rising Storm doesn't even have vehicles right now. So it's more like the old WW2 themed CoDs, except that it's so much more unforgiving, or i can say, more realistic. Still quite fast paced action, but requires careful tactic and teamwork. Some say it's not that great, i for one quite like it even if i mostly still suck at it having a fair amount of experience. In Steam reviews it's often called PTSD-simulator so it can't be that bad And that game is a nice example of improving things after getting mixed reviews upon release. It also has an unlock/level/upgrade/whatever system which was undesirable in the eyes of many players
KodiakJac Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Air Hauler combined with FS2004. RTS games like GraviTeam Tactics. Silent Hunter 3 and 4. Pretty much anything that moves slow and is complicated. Have never liked FPS games.
Y-29.Silky Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 It was Arma until all the role-playing cancer infected it. Now it's America's Army, Close Combat, and NHL15.. I am thinking about getting back into Microsoft Flight Simulator X though. I try not to get involved into too many games or I won't have a life and will be single forever.
wtornado Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) ARMA 3 with it's gazillion patches is te game to beat now for me. Funny how the dev said 2 weeks after the release when I bought it at the beginning how the game was bottlenecked due to the coding and they could not get more out of it. Now look at the game today it is good I mean really good. Nothing like playing an online game in ''Zeus'' mod and not knowing what you will face is fun. I like the rule changes ingame that change with the Zeus mission generator making you have to adapt to what is going on in the field. Bohemia interactive came out with an unplayable unfinshed game and turned it into something good. The pressure was on and the coders came through. Gta V on PC - first person...can't wait. Downloading ARMA3 - is it worth playing???I just can't combine flying and fighting now. It's dull and maybe I'm too old or totally screwd up by GA... I get Junkers point who refused to build military aircraft. If you have a high end computer you just purchased one of the best games out there todate. Edited February 3, 2015 by WTornado
indiaciki Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 I love ARMA3. It's what the original Ghost Recon, Operation Flashpoint and Rainbow Six were like a decade ago. Just getting used to it. It's really fun. You can"t get hit by 20 bullets and hide for 20s and regenerate so you can't play like a superhero
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Yea thats what i meant. You either love the realism and tactical engagements or you just hate it because... killz. Unfortunately i didnt have enought time to get fully into it yet. Didnt have too much luck online either so most of the time I fire it up I feel frustrated after walking for 30 min only to be killed by the next partisan or landmine. Did I mention I also have a hell of a struggle to identify friend and foe in arma? Edited February 4, 2015 by Stab/JG26_5tuka

You move in you're computer chair swearing and screaming at the screen trying to get out of the situation alive hahaha.FUN!
indiaciki Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) I just played the infantery showcase for 1h and 25. Wounded for about 45min before getting killed. Great fun. Edited February 6, 2015 by indiaciki

Yea, I want to see that Seriously though I'm not too much a fan of infantry combat so I grab a tank, heli or at least a IFV most of the time. It's pretty plain to play alone alogn ai only though so it didn't totally impress me so far but it's definetly fun and realistic. Edited February 6, 2015 by Stab/JG26_5tuka
