Whow! What a remarkable experience ad the DED server ( Normal )

Yesterday I returned to my MP experience in il2-BOS, and chose the DED ( fresh meat ) server ...

 

Picked first an F4, then a 190, then the G2...

 

Got easily shot down, even trying to start high and use boom& zoom techniques, by La5s and even Yak-1s !!!

 

What a great experience specially because:

 

1) Weather was set with moderate wind and turbulence, making the whole experience more challenging / realsitic

 

2) I find that the performance of all aircraft compares beautifully with what I've been reading about their true capabilities, when flown by experienced pilots, and the way around, since even a good fighter, in the hands of a mediocre fighter pilot, will act like a pigeon...

I made the switch to the La-5 recently, and noticed a massive increase in the amount of time between the initiation of a 109 boom'n'zooming me and my inevitable demise. The extra 60-120 seconds of life really does make a great deal of difference, e.g. I can get off a few flare shots in his general direction in an attempt to illuminate him to death.

Maybe I was lucky, because I  am surely far from a good il2-bos combat flightsim player , or the opponents were even worse than me... but I really managed to shoot 2 down after "long" dogfights where they started with B&Z, but eventually got into low level cricling....
