cant launch game anymore

I used to play (and launch the game) with no problems at all but now everytime I click on the game icon or the icon on steam nothing happens and it doesn't seem to launch the game which is very frustrating as I love this game...Ive tried running the game as administrator but with no luck this problem happened with Il-2 sturmovik Cliffs of dover though I never sorted the problem out on it  

 

I have a bad understanding with sorting games out and if someone could dumb it down for me if they know any solution It would be really appreciated!!!!!! thanks

I'm having the same issue, when I hit 'play' in steam, my screen fl;ickers back then nothing. Win 8.1, R280x
