hummatov Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 I know it sounds weird. but really. how do you handle this? some russian aircraft such as La-5 ser.8 will have all pitch/roll controls which is handy. But the FW190 for example, only has stabilizer controls. so only vertical. what do you do? you just live with it? )
Dakpilot Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Cruise at the historic speeds/power settings that the aircraft were trimmed to fly at with the "movable fixed tabs" for those axis which do not have adjustable ones This should give you "hands off" level flight, in other situations you will have to live with it just as was the case in RL, irritating but I guess is accurate Cheers Dakpilot
Lupus Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Another option, if you have a HOTAS that is capable, is to write a programable macro that will "Auto Trim" your plane. A CH HOTAS is capable of this, I would imagine the same could be said for Saitek and Thrustmaster. Although that said, you would no longer be flying a truly "Historic" aircraft. And this might limit movement in other axis during combat, as it 'virtually holds the stick and rudder in a specific position' to produce level flight.
Sokol1 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Since this "is just a game", if you are HOTAS'less use rudder keys (Z, X) adjust to fake a rudder trim for level flight.
