Back in IL2-BOS, with a Name :)

My last "flight" in BOS was more than a month ago.

I was primarily disappointed with ground handling physics, and still find they need some attention, but after having used both Cliffs of Dover and now the K4 in DCS, I see that most probably these 109s were really a "bitch" to taxi... The big difference between BOS and the 109 K4 in DCS appears to me as being the tail wheel lock mechanism efficiency. One locked, the tailwheel in DCS's K4 really avoids that continuous need for rudder input and only brake taps are required in the 1st place to taxi....

But, above all, I really had to try the latest updates to BOS, and feel, again, what I still find as the closest to real sensation of "being there" that this sim provides me :)

Well, just a couple of MP flights, picking a model I never or almost never picked before - the G2...

It's nice to be back, and also nice to see "jcomm" as my gamer tag, although I'll change it ASAP to my old ( from Combat Flight Simulator times... ) VonQueca :-)

C'ya around the winter skies of BOS ;-)

Ah! I still find the way il2 bos models control forces, and running out of stick at higher speeds, specially in the German fighters, by far the most "true to live" I have found among the various simulators ( BOS, CloD and DCS ). In X-Plane 10 I can now fine tune the FDM to give me more or less the same results ;-)

Incredible!  Seen it happen to a b737 once, although not so dramatic...

Pranagster that makes me feel much better about my taxi skills in BoS.   I f the best naval aviators in the country slip around like that....

Yes, and it rises a question - probably most of the problems we have derive from a more sophisticated simulation of the effects of a slipery surface typical of the aerodromes in BOS... It reduces the efficiency of the tailwheel lock most surely ....

Also, after having taxied the K4 in DCS, I guess BOS has probably it correctly modeled after all :-/

Can you give me some trick to do that in XP10? :)

Well, there are a few, difficult to summarize here...

There used to be only the "Control Geometry" / "Phase-Out" section in Pklane-Maker, but now with the 6 new datarefs and moments L, R and N, one can use LUA scripts ( or C++, or C, or Gizmo... ) to fine tune the flight dynamics of any aircraft :)
