coconut Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Hi, It's nice the game now support triple screen setups in landscape mode. Sadly, it's a bit hard to play during daytime due to the excessively bright sun. See the pictures below, taken from the same flight recording. I don't mind it too much when playing alone against bots, but it's hard to be competitive against human players. This is the wide version: This the single screen version: For comparison: this is the wide version cropped to single screen size.
JimTM Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) I feel that the triple-screen sun is by far the best in any sim. It seems to reflect what I experience on a bright Winter's day. I never realized that the single-screen folks had a bit of an edge in this respect. Just a subjective feeling though. It would be nice if they were equal, one way or the other. SvAF/F19_CoNa Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 How about a virtual hand to block the sun when needed I have done it IRL several times now...luckely no one was watching me. That's a indication how immersive this game is...just love it. Agree as above, either get us tripple screen user down to the single screen users brightness, which I prefer. Or raise theirs to our level. The sun is really making it hard to fight anything towards it's direction.
coconut Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Bumped because it's still a problem, see http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/16536-developer-diary-part-98-discussion/page-2?do=findComment&comment=262881 for screenshots from 1.011. It's not the most annoying triple-screen bug, though. Did a flight in a bomber with NVidia surround enabled yesterday. The feeling of flight in the Pe2 is fantastic in this setting, but sadly the bomb sights are unusable. The UI elements are spread out to the far left and right, and the sights themselves appear way too zoomed in. My guess is that the game scales certain things according to horizontal field-of-view (bomb sights and sun glare "sprite"), whereas the game keeps the vertical field of view constant across all setups. To have consistency, everything should be scaled according to vertical field-of-view. 2
