Offset of force feedback joysticks vs trim

Recommended Posts

What do you think about the offset of force feedback joysticks when trims are adjusted ?
For my part, i got very flat response curves in the center and I can not benefit the central precision of my curve because of the offset generated by the trims on my FFB2... it's really problematic (problem that does not meet those who do not have force feedback...)
I would wish that this offset of FFBs be an option we can activate or desactivate.

I just got this game and I am not really impressed. Among other problems, there is the annoying Forcefeedback bug. You can see it in the video below. YES, I use a G940. Basically because I fly choppers in DCS world and it works great for that. I also use it in Elite Dangerous and FSX without problems. But as soon as the level-autopilot disengages, it pushes the center of the stick forward. I found out that this bug is tied to the forcefeedback effects. If you turn that off, the stick behaves normally. But then I got a forcefeedback joystick without... well... forcefeedback... Not very fun. Is this similar to your problem?

I have the same problem with my G940, force feedback i need to trim full back to have the stick in center.

Well i personnally like the offset thing a lot , the reason why is that it allows me to physically feel the trim and helps to  physically feel if  and when my plane is well trimed and how it is  .

I ve got really no problem with it ...BUT  it s just my feel and i do think it may also depend of the type of aircraft you usually fly ( Pe2/Il2 most of time for me ...)

PS : ff force set to 70 % in my game and i ve got sensitivity set to 0 on the pitch  axis , absolutely linear .

MAY BE a thing to explore if you are using a plane where "pitch triming" rely on an axis : 109 for example ( yes i know it s not a trim but a stabilizer ...) (pe2/il2 rely on buttons not axis ...)  you can also set a special curve on this "trim" axis can it be of some help  ?...

One  annoying thing is what Platypus write , the quite brutal reaction of the stick when you cut off level flight .

There 's a way to prevent it , at least on a ms ffb2 , it s to open fingers  when you go back to normal flight so that the 2 "cells" that detect them on the stick (one upward one on the base ) cut ffb and so no more brutal reaction when cutting level flight .( dunno how it works on a g940 though ...cells ? or is force always on ?)

The most worrying thing for me, related to ffb , is more the fact that it sometimes loses all the ffb force , or on the contrary become extremely hard (unplayable)  , and also sometimes  totally disconnect ; and sometimes go to uncontrolled shaking ,   all that happening especially when using a second screen (map ) and "alt tabing"  to go from one screen to the other .... and the trick that consist of escaping , going to settings , devices, cutting ffb, then reengage it, and going back to game is really an harassment ...
