LLv34_Flanker Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 S! After the Cliffs of Dover disaster(now mostly fixed and incredibly improved by TF) I thought BoS would be the real worthy successor for original IL-2. So much that bought the early access premium package as soon as I could. Was great to see "old hands" getting interested again and seeing new faces coming in. It was most of the part a fun ride, until the debacles and whatnot prior release. As it seems the devs won't budge at all with graphical settings, among other issues, so I will pack my stuff and leave BoS. No more money or support from me, even it does not matter in the big picture at all. Yes, I won't let the door hit me on the way out and all that The rest of you..enjoy or whatever 5
Chuck_Owl Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Dang it, Flanker... You're a fine chap, never forget it. See you around the other forums!
JtD Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 I'm betting you'll be back some time. Why? Because you can't really be any more disappointed than I am, and I am still around. I just refuse to believe that people can be as thick headed as they need to be in order to turn the accidents into a complete disaster. Call me an optimist, but I assure you I am not. In the meantime, have fun on Solaris, if that's where you're going. You're not the first one looking for exile there.
LLv44_Mprhead Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 I actually fired up BoS first time for a month or so today after getting quite fed up with some things earlier... and had pretty good time with it Sometimes it's good to step away for a while, when frustration starts to get the upper hand After all, it is just a game/sim...
IRRE_Belmont Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Sure, because the devs just abandonned the game, like the last dev blog is stating. ''Hey, 777, can i have some more graphical settings?'' -''Not now, we're working on some other issues'' ''NEVER COMING BACK, YOU WILL NOT SEE MY WALLET AGAIN'' Let me be clear Flanker, you've always been a helpful mate on the forums, and i think i speak for everyone here, But this is but a childlish attitude,Give it time, it's a brand new simulator, and it still needs some polishing, and leaving the game like that isn't gonna resolve anything. Well, i guess we'll see you back again in 4-5 mounths, when the game will be more ''pleasant'' for you, That being said, i wish you a good continuation in the SIM-World, i hope to see you on other sims Cheers 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 S! I have stated previously a few times that BoS has all the potential, even more so with Zeus's VL map/FMB/Dserver/SkinViewer, but some decisions and developer actions/attitudes just turned me away from BoS. And I am not alone as quite a few lurkers have already abandoned BoS, those who I know from RL. A shame really.
Pringliano Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) Lot's of Folks CloDicating... I'm there too, but I keep an eye on BOS and DCS. Reasoning is - if the FDM in BOS is some mix between what I have ( and find so far the BEST! in CloD and RoF ), then it can converge towards something really good... Just needs time ? Yesterday tried DCS's K4, and while it is still Open Beta, and the FDM needs fine tuning, I find it has lot's of Potential too! Problem is, I really got hooked in CloD I could almost say it turned out becoming one of my preferred flight simulators EVER! A perfect mix of ease of use ( not a complex study sim as DCS can be ) but with interactive cockpits and, above all, very plausible flight dynamics, excellent DM effects ( I agree BOS and RoF have the best available ), great scenery and performance too. But! But!!! But!!!!!! I can't forget the sensation of "Being There" BOS caused me while I used it. Truth the FDM needs the devs attention, when possible, but heck! It's a great flight simulator too, and certainly a great Combat flight simulation as well! As others have suggested, please just give it some time... some more time - and Flanker, I know your feel so well - I guess I am known in all flightsims communities primarily for my install / uninstall behavior il-2 BOS IS a great Combat and Flight Simulator, and I guess that having started a lot better than il-2 CloD did in 2011, it'll eventually reach, faster than it was possible in CloD thanks to the talent of Team Fusion, a very high standard. I strongly believe in this. Edited December 3, 2014 by jcomm

It's not that they don't have the time to give us more graphic settings. All they have to do is open up the file to us like this did previously and everything is fine. Zero work to make a lot of people happier. They actually spent their own time closing a loophole that allowed people to edit their graphic settings. This loophole worked fine for months. So it's really a game design decision taken by Loft the unlock genius and he seems set on it. Voting with the wallet becomes the only recourse to those who the issue is important to when the devs won't listen to months and months of pleas about this standard feature in every PC game.
Brano Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Flanker, It has been an honor to meet you here and have good chat from time to time on interesting topics.Wish you all good in your life.
