Thank you for this comment Zak : No matter how good or bad the sales are, the game will be completed as announced. Which means that dserver, FME and skin viewer are coming to BOS.

this reassures .

What I think will help the most, are fan made videos. The lower score on some website can't compete with a nice video on YouTube. But regardless of the score, of who is rating it, everything will come together in good time. Must admit, it was a way better start than the clod disaster.

Let's face it, it couldn't have gone much worse. :D

Guys,

Thanks and yes, as has been stated all along, our main priority is to complete the plan we laid out at the beginning which includes all mentioned above plus making sure the product works and bugs are squashed. We've even added in things like the AI Ju-52 where possible that weren't part of the original plan. We are also completing the Ilya Muromets project ad some bug fixes for ROF so our plate is full at the moment. Only after these plans are complete will we evaluate our next steps.

Please continue any discussion about the unlocks in this thread. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/11694-campaign-system-unlocks/page-14

Thanks again for the encouragement.

My squadron, the Tangmere Pilots, are really looking forward to the release of both the DServer and Mission Editor. If it all goes to plan we should be able to switch our Sunday night coop campaign to BoS early next year which will be a relief for some of our members who've had trouble running CloD. All we ask for is a stable game that runs well on mid-range system and so far you have delivered, so keep up the good work Jason.

This sim is not perfect but it is a very good product. This team has shown us in more ways than any development team I have ever seen in the two years since this all got started.. and it has just been two years .. that they are trying theior best to make a good flight sim.. Not some flying game but a bona fide flight sim. They have planned their work and they have worked their plan. There is a lot to enjoy about this sim and a lot more to come.

It's nice to have something solid to build upon.  It'll be interesting to see what they can do with it.

They are surely dealing with stressful challenges, technical and otherwise, so the closer they adhere to core values, the better.  I sense the team strives produce a product that anticipates change, and it's obviously a passionate group, the lot of them.

I have been playing sims for over 20 years, and I have yet to find a perfect sim. Even if it was perfect for me, it wouldn't be for others. I'm willing to wait another 6 months to a year for this to get more added to it but currently I am having a blast with it and, as  hardcore simmer, I'm very happy with BoS.

glad to hear that you're getting some enjoyment from the product. I've been struggling for the last two days to even get it to start. I bought the disk version and it seem to have successfully installed into steam and I have successfully activated an account on the IL2 website. But every time I try to start the game I get shown a 25 string product code. Without being rude were do I stick it? what am I doing wrong?

Please see this guide. Activation is a two step process. Steam and our site. Maybe you didn't do it exactly right somehow, just a guess. Compare what you did to the guide.

Just add my two cents!  Congrats to the team for the game to date.  It really is a fine piece of art!  Making new high marks in some areas.  Like most art it can be subjective.  However, the team has always delivered on what it promised.  Past performance gives me confidence that the team will deliver what they have stated.  The team never claimed perfection but shot for very good and by any reasonable standard have achieved at least that.  Fingers crossed for a commercial success for you guys.  Hoping that the next title (and a bf110) is still on the drawing boards.

I think that BoS can be fun, but it could be sooo much better !

It doesn't sound good for me Jason......

I can only ask you to don't take care of Metacritic and to stay on the target. You don't need encouragement, you have simple to stay on BoS. This sim has an incredible potentiality and it's almost great as it's now.

In december you should already have decided at least a sort of Road Map even if still limitated to Stalingrad only (new textures for the landscape, new aircrafts ecc. ecc.). I don't know how sales are going on but please don't care too much about negativity.

BoS has been released too early but is a stunning simulation, and it will be better and better in the near future if you stay on it.

The misunderstanding with the russian developers is going to be a problem, is clear now, and probably is time to force the hand in some aspect of the game and relationship, unlock in primis (help us to help you). Don't repeat the "You're wrong" IL2 experience.

We can't lose this opportunity, probably the last one to have a stunning WW2 sim.

There are website where you get from the rating and score deliver much more informations with screenshots or videos from the gameplay than other website do. I still missing that this website that previewed RoF cant do a preview for BoS because BoS has no Demo or a Trail Version

Here a example from the Website and Previews that I mean above.

Preview: http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/rise-of-flight-channel-battles-edition/test/rise_of_flight_channel_battles_edition,51195,3056652.html

Rating & Score: http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/rise-of-flight-channel-battles-edition/wertung/51195.html

I wish they could preview BoS like they did with RoF because I like how they preview and how they give their score and rating to the games that they have tested.

The core values from the Game are perfect and do much fun. Never get this special feeling with other sims that I have now with BoS.  It feels like a sim it is a sim.  I think that the Mod-Tools, Dserver, User-made skins change a lot here.  :salute:

I'm late to the party as I've been busy leading up to the final release of the game, but now I can devote some time and having a great time.

I've only flown the campaign and so far only the IL-2 as I love ground pounding but this is everything I wanted in a worthy sequel to the original, so well done to Jason and the team for having the vision and dedication to not only raise the bar on what is a pretty niche product, but to keep to your ethos of what you want to see in your sim despite all the detractors trying their best to sway you from the path.

Metacritic has no relevance for this sim. Keep up the good work, Jason and devs. In the end the quality of this sim will make it a success. Even the unlucky unlocks are mainly used to bash the sim by the guys, who would have bashed it anyhow. Everyone who enjoys the feeling of flight, which only BoS and RoF provide, will make peace with those unlocks.
